Re: North Carolina Riders

Just the usual, had another kid, working on some Haros. I could use a bike day, haven't ridden in forever.

Currently working on this 96 Ultra. May need to get a different sprocket, it's not big enough to keep the chain from rubbing on the brake.

Re: North Carolina Riders

That's a great looking Haro JT!

Was outside of Greenville the other day and a friend of mine took me over to what was Dave Mirra's house. For sure the most interesting house in that neighborhood.

R.I.P. Dave.

Very cool pictures, Brian!

Hope everyone here is doing well! I wanted to share something with this group.

At practice a couple of weeks ago, Mike King asked my thoughts on if an old school show would go over well at the 2024 Worlds in Rock Hill.  Obviously I enthusiastically said yes, and we had a short conversation about it.  He said he would have to put out bids to hire someone to organize it and would try to bring in riders from back in the day like Stu and others.

I don't know much about how to put together anything like that, but I figured I'd fill everyone local here in on the conversation at least.  I think it would be a great thing to add to Worlds week, and with the right promotion it could draw in a lot of folks from all over.

Any thoughts, ideas, contacts I should pass along to Mike to help make it happen would be cool.

That would be very cool! At the last Spring Fling BMX show in FL a couple years ago Bill Allen "Cru Jones" was one of the featured guests. DamageInc and I ran into him on the beach the next day and chatted. He was very excited and interested in doing as much as he can to bring BMX back into the spotlight and show off/promote old school BMX. He would be a great person to get in touch with. I don't have his direct contact info, but I've seen him on Facebook.

Did you make it to Sk8 Cary over the weekend?  Nyquist was there for some contest series.

Just a little update on the Ultra, needs a bigger sprocket for chain clearance.

So much bling on that one Brian. I am officially moved away from NC so no more events or rides for me. All my bikes and belongings are floating over the pond in a container. I am in NC at the moment but heading out west and will make a stop at the Rockford BMX show in a couple weeks.

Re: North Carolina Riders

Too bad that place is so sketchy,  we could do an old school show out front.
