Have fun getting the pins back in. I would try one before you get any further.

+1    Or at least only take off 1 side at a time and clean it up then put it back together. I think it would make your life way easier.

Re: gt chain restore question

difference between 200 wet & 600 wet by hand is noticable. very this is by hand, just came from
the parts departments they gave me a kit p220 p400 p800 p1000
works great by hand.

Re: gt chain restore question

So you have removed all pins, sanded and polished the links and assembled it back up?? Did you use new pins? Or re-use the old ones? And you are going to use it to ride and rebuild it every month and a half?? Did you flair the pin ends? Other wise the links will come off the pins when under pressure and you will stack! got any pics of the finished chain??

Re: gt chain restore question

You guys keep pulling all these old ABW posts up and they are hilarious! Someone really should start an ABW post thread.

Re: gt chain restore question

Yeah just make a best of ABW thread. Funny and retarded at the same time. Someone might actually think it's a good idea to take apart a chain pin by pin.lol
