1981 St Tropez Tech 700

What I rode BITD.

So happy to have another one. Found it locally on Craigs list. I had been looking on Ebay for years. Almost exactly like my old one. Different stickers. I shit-canned the tacky pads, it looks much better. New knobbys and seat. Just needs grips.

Re: 1981 St Tropez Tech 700

Awesome.  Same exact frame, fork, and components as my Royal Enfield.

I've seen a few other brands in the museum that have the identical frame/fork/specs, it must have been a low-end Asian export that was rebadged a hundred times.

It's a tank, but even after being stored in a barn for 15 years, I can still drag mine out and ride it around.

Relax.
Balance.
Focus.

Myone, yes the STS pad is original. My old bike had them when new. The cross bar pad had it too. It stands for Saint Tropez Service. I have some NOS grips, and pads in the packaging...and it says that.

Very cool. I will cross-post this photo of me in September 1979 on my white St. Tropez. Looks like you've still got the original seat and bars on yours among other things.

Once I started racing, upgrades came fast. Below is the following August at the track and the forks, seat, post, post clamp, cranks/sprocket, grips, wheels, rear tire and chain are different. The Pro-Line frame/fork followed soon after. That's my brother on his St. Tropez. I don't recall why we both the changed forks? Knowing me I probably broke the damn things.
