1987 General Osborn Pro

Like seeing a Unicorn
-SOLD-SOLD-SOLD-SOLD-SOLD- I was once again able to reunite a fellow member with his childhood ride!

Found BMXMuseum and then seeked out my childhood bike (85 green General Hustler) then a former friend's bike (85 pink General Hustler Pro). I was hooked. I learned more about BMX history and the history of the General Bicycle Company. I found an image of the 1987 General Osborn Pro and decided I would take on the monumental task of building the best model General Bicycles had ever built. This is the only Osborn Pro that I have ever seen in person. It has been said that seeing the Osborn Pro is like seeing a Unicorn.

Re: 1987 General Osborn Pro

Almost forgot to thank member calismoooth for hosting the 2012 BMXMUSEUM Spring Build off.  Without having a deadline I likely would not have finished it by now. Also- thanks to those voting for my bike. I worked really hard to make this happen and hopefully, it shows.

Re: 1987 General Osborn Pro

Killer Hustler. I have 2 86 Hustler R.L.Osborone Pros( red and green), and three of the Fred Bloods( Magenta, Red, Yellow), and I think they are some of the most underated bikes from the mid-80's. As long as the sale prices of these bikes stays low....I'll keep pickn them up.....cause someday collectors are gona realize they are important pieces to any collection. Hustler's Rule!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: 1987 General Osborn Pro

Sweet bike.  I have to admit that I am part of the crowd that's never seen one in person too.  When I do see one though, I'm going to grab it for sure.  Very nice collection by the way.

Cool, a new bike.  Wait a minute.......where am I going to hide this one.  She's going to catch me...

Re: 1987 General Osborn Pro

Build turned out great, and I'm digging the blue Tuffs on it as well. Very nice!

Love those bikes, very unique.

You don't HAVE to build every frame and fork you own... right?

Re: 1987 General Osborn Pro

Very nice build. The Osborn Pro was the best bike I ever owned. I never saw one with mags on it, but it looks great with the Tuffs.

Thanks for the compliment. According to catalog only the red/chrome was available stock with white tuffs, others came with 48's.

Re: 1987 General Osborn Pro

Looks great, these and the Peregrines which are largely influenced by the RL-20II, are some of my favs.  Nice scenic shots.

Sorry to see you miss her, but yes, great joy is being had here!

Not trying to be mean, just wanted you to know that she's in great hands and there are big plans under way for this bike!!

Have sourced some NOS parts and she's shaping up nicely.
