Very well may be, but didn't Redline and Diamondback made the exact same thing with Sugino?...  Everyone has to start somewhere wink

Juan here's my opinion, cranks look great!! but the welded seams look way too busy if you can smooth them out they would look alot better! the welded plate looks cool tho.
cool

I hear you on this one bud...  And I also agree they look a bit tacky but we wanted to match the welding pattern on the arms.

These are just the first Prototype, a few things may be changed before these are offered for sale.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

I'm with some of the other people, why so many welds and pieces.  The chrome is nice and blingy though.

Re: CW Racing Pro Thunder Cranks (Prototype Stage)

A Diamond Back HL Turbo look to them with Redline half-wrap ends.

I dig em, and would rock those on any of my CW's.

But cleaning up the welds would really give them a better look. Polish them out or at least lay them down evenly. I'll still be in line to buy either way.

Juan, I hope you know I DO respect the way you guys have come at the new CW, but the difference between the Sugino/ Redline comparison, is that those came out at virtually the same time. Bullseye cranks have been around 30 years, and no matter what you label them as, they are still just going to be known as Bullseye cranks. I'm sure Bullseye could smooth out the sides, and make the welds disappear, thereby making them look at least a bit different. I guess in a nutshell, it seems to me that in a rush to have CW cranks, you took what was easy & what existed, instead of doing something innovative, and to me, thats disappointing. My .02c....

Re: CW Racing Pro Thunder Cranks (Prototype Stage)

I must agree with owl. I'd take a set for sure if the logo was engraved, and you made some design change to make them original to CW....Since its a proto, I'm sure there will be trips back to the drawing board. Put me on the list as a optimistically almost for sure...

Hell, I think they look cool the way they are. To me, the welds down the center make them unique. First glimpse, the Diamond Back Turbo cranks came to mind...... Nice stuff guys!

Nectarlicious looking cranks there!! Will they be available on a first come-first serve basis and how will we know when to jump, or will it be a round robin caged death match to determine the buying order? tongue

Re: CW Racing Pro Thunder Cranks (Prototype Stage)

If its only 30 sets, ditch Bullseye, forget Profile, and have GM make them custom with your own spindle and marked cups like cook bro. did... If you were going to mass produce, fine.. just dump the CW coupon. In this case though, you started from scratch with the frames, why change now? Stay original and apart from the others. JMHO.

Re: CW Racing Pro Thunder Cranks (Prototype Stage)

EDITED...

We are not working in a rush guys, this is a joint effort with Bullseye cycle and we thought it would be very cool to bring back the 1st generation design with CW Racing flavor (More so considering they reach up to $ 1,000 when they show up for sale)...  Here, these are not even chromed:

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/mm82/juanrmattos/CW%20Racing%20Pro%20Thunder%20Prototype%20Cranks/BSEB.jpg

Just to be clear-er, they are Prototypes!!!, meaning the quality is not the best just yet...
These are not meant to be Mass Produced, the day we decide to go that way, we will look for our own design (The reason why we chose this specific set was as a way to match the Old School look of our tribute frames)...     If you guys had the smallest idea of the cost to produce a set of cranks in the US, you will be feeling very silly from some of these comments right about now.

Your opinions are being taken into consideration and we thank you for your feedback...
(Even though it seems some people is just not meant to be happy) cool

Re: CW Racing Pro Thunder Cranks (Prototype Stage)

I would love a pair of bullseyes, new, at a reasonable price.  I am not a huge fan of the welded logo, but i have always  been a fan the visable welds in bullseyes.  They have that custom made out of the garage look.  Light but stout.  I need a set with a euro bb to ride on new school bike. Those look good raw.

Re: CW Racing Pro Thunder Cranks (Prototype Stage)

On my opinion they look super cool, they look like DB turbo cranks but beefier, and if you guys make a small run on this prototypes, can you imagine the cost of this cool cranks 20/30 years from now? I belive on interesting products to be produce for the future generations, and for the name of the company to be remember!!! I say make 20 pairs like this one and sell me one!!! big_smile
