Re: KASTAN thread BMX.

My 88 kex pro 24 had a uniblade but the owner before me changed it out for a S&M Pitch fork,i don't know if he broke it or not.I like it,this way i can run my Bullseye hub on the front.

Re: KASTAN thread BMX.

I have an aluminum 24" (mid-90s) that I'll post pictures of when it is finished. I'd like to get some pads for it, but that top tube is a little large for a normal pad.

should have a spot coming up in a week or so, that you can go to for all your kastan info, starting with kex first and working into the newer, working with a friend on this and should have it going soon

Re: KASTAN thread BMX.

unfortunatly, what i have researched and been told  by linn is that the serial numbers really didnt mean much,  but i would think with a 000012 its early made of that frame, but we are still working on serial info

Re: KASTAN thread BMX.

So I guess I'll finally throw my hat into the ring with one of these
http://i1298.photobucket.com/albums/ag58/HawkXXL/IMG_20130120_160428_365_zps9c227159.jpg

Its a NOS pro S that came directly from the hands of the man himself.  This one is a one of one I guess. This frame has no head tube gussets.  The story I got was that it was a prototype frame that Linn kept for himself.  It also has an indentation on the chainstay for clearance.  I doubt there is another like it.  Every Kastan out ther has the gussets.

http://i1298.photobucket.com/albums/ag58/HawkXXL/IMG_20130120_160527_360_zpsaf53e936.jpg

The strut is an early one with the redline logo partially removed.

Nice. Is it just me or the top tube looks larger than the down tube. Maybe it's the angle of the photo.

Would like lots of bikes but the SE Hauler is one that has a lot of sentimental value to me. Anyone got one?

I heard there was one on ebay.

This is my signature. There are many like it, but this one is mine. My signature is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I master my life. My signature, without me, is useless. Without my signature, I am useless.

Would love to acquire a Sunn B-Mix 26.

Re: KASTAN thread BMX.

After Kex came the Pro-lines.  The main differences were the missing integrated seat clamp and I dont think any more ovalized top tubes were available.  These came out in late 92 early 93 and were still made of chromoly.

http://i1298.photobucket.com/albums/ag58/HawkXXL/Kastan191_zpsec53ff17.jpg

Here is one of the earliest square backs made by Kastan (not including the redlines)  This one is an early serial number with the older style decals and no canti mounts.  I believe they came out early 93.  I believe sometime in later in 93, they switched to the newer decal and added the canti mounts but it was basically the same bike still made out of chromoly.  The next gen of Kastans would also be square back but they switched to aluminum in about 94.
