Re: Old School Japan

I do some Ciclavia and other large community rides. Stuff with families and such. I get some funny looks for riding a twenty most of the time since those are what the kids ride.

Re: Old School Japan

Only my own rig, haven't come across any old school stuff for a while now other than in the Shop a couple hundred metres from my new place. Might ask if I can take some pics and will post. They have some mad shit in there.

This is my daily and also often use it for long rides. So easy to ride and still fast as smile

Re: Old School Japan

The gold team Murray was my first BMX bike.
before that I rode muscle bikes, thin blade forks and ape hangar bars, etc.
In the store I remember thinking what an ugly bike "Look at those stupid looking forks and whats up with this straight bar frame crap...lol, and kept trying to get my father to buy me a Silver Fox muscle bike. I was 7 or 8 what did I know.
My father started to explain the strength of a tube fork, the strength of the handle bar, stuff like that. the frame too.
he convinced me and we went home with it. I never went back to muscle bikes after that.

What good is a BMX bike if it sits on the shelf? Ride that thang.......Yep that's right, my seat is from an old Free Spirt, and my chain is by Bell.

Re: Old School Japan

Spotted this 'goose at a track practice this week:-

As you can see, the stem wasn't too happy about it!

Re: Old School Japan

Was back in Tokyo for a race in March and saw this pair of Kuwaharas but then completely forgot to post them up, so 4 months down the line, here you go:-

Re: Old School Japan

Wow nice finds! I do see people riding new 'old school' bikes now and then (repro Kuwa's etc).
That was an exceptional effort for that dude to break that Mongoose stem like that yikes
