1987 GT Pro Freestyle Tour Team Model

One of two prized PFT Team Models I restored in 2007

As I set out to restore the memory of my old black GT PFTTM that was stolen from me, I decided to build a white twin for my wife. This project started as nothing but a bare sanded frame, fork, bars, and seatpost. All parts restored and re-powdered white by Valley Enameling in Burbank, CA, Except the DC Tech 7 Levers & Gyro which are NOS. GT Power Series cranks are also NOS (an extremely lucky find). Pedals are new DMC V8. Superlace Wheelset consists of course of GT high flange 36H hubs laced to Ukai rims with the inner surface powdered white. I'd say the only thing on this bike that is not era correct are the pedals, I just like them a lot better than the original SR-474 pedals (which I do have). Decals are from AJK. I obtained about 25% of the parts from Ebay, and the rest from the good folks here at the BMX Museum. So those of you who have contributed, this bike is dedicated to you!!

p.s. If you're curious about the original story of these bikes the post is here:

Thanks, yeah I didn't remember seeing any white ones back when I owned my black one, the only other ones I saw in my area were the purple, blue, and dayglow.  In fact I didn't ever see any other blacks except mine.  I never saw a chrome one either, in fact I originally ordered a chrome one and they told me they weren't selling them anymore, that was in Sept. 87.  So I've always had a little bit of a longing for a chrome one.  Take a look the chrome PFT that Acuzerfdw built, it's exquisite.
