Re: WILKERSON AIRLINES (WAL) RIOT - Lets See Em! Need Some Ideas!

I just dug into my old "2-Hip Society" binder and pulled out some old stickers and my WAL Hangtag.

Gak!! Chromey -- that one FINE collection. I almost feel bad asking you to part with that 2Hip 'Bumper Sticker...'

Almost.

Let me know if, in a beer-drenched fit of silliness, you feel like parting with it!

Ah. While I do often have beer drenched fits of silliness (for real).
I gotta hold on to all of these. I have a few projects planned for myself as well.
I've had them since 89-91.

This batch is especially dear to me.

The long 2-Hip sticker is the smaller version (about 6" long) - not the big 12" one you're looking for anyway.
smile  You may have to repro the big one.  But here's a decent shot of the design. If you need a clearer shot let me know.

Still psyched to see that 89 Hoffman/PK come together.

Re: WILKERSON AIRLINES (WAL) RIOT - Lets See Em! Need Some Ideas!

No worries man... if I was you, I wouldn't part with any of that, either. Completely understood.

I've been in touch with Ron Wilkerson, who had said he was going to scan a copy of one that he has -- but that was before Christmas, and I haven't heard from him since (and I don't really want to bug him about it.)

If you had time and inclination, I would LOVE it if you could get a good scan of the image in a high dpi, I could create the decal from that.

Love your scoots btw... I always check in on a 'chromey' post to see what's up.

Dug out of my mom's basement and cleaned up.

I haven't really decided if I'm gonna put it back together, sell it, or just hang it on the wall.

I'm not sure, but I think they are Mongoose.  I had a Hooligan I rode before I got the WAL, and when I decided that the WAL forks sucked, I probably had the Hooligan forks still to toss on there.

I keep trying to get back to my parent's house to try to find the WAL forks and bashguard, but that's across the country from me.

Getting a little closer.  It's been a long time coming but I'll get there eventually.

Would love to find my old Dirt Bike.  It was stolen in Pompano Beach, Florida in about 1996.  It's a '92 with the block graphics on a Green frame.  Pitchforks, Slam bars, King Headset, GT (DK-style) stem and GT/Profile cranks.  Superlace hubs.  Would really love to put this back in my collection.

Where was it for sale. I hadn't seen it. Not that I'm ever vigilant, but I like to see what else is out there. Anybody still have a link?

Re: WILKERSON AIRLINES (WAL) RIOT - Lets See Em! Need Some Ideas!

It was on ebay. Really nice looking chrome one from Alaska. I'm on the tail end of a bike buying spree that kicked off with picking a Laguna at the Society show so I couldn't bring myself to jump all-in on this one... I still hold out hope that the Bmx gods will help me score one some day.

I saved it on my favorites, but didn't bid. I would love to have a bike like that in my collection.

When I thought about it further, I remembered seeing this. This guy is from Alaska too.

Re: WILKERSON AIRLINES (WAL) RIOT - Lets See Em! Need Some Ideas!

with the Moto style forks the geometry looks a lot like my Vector Mark2.  I like it!  But the chrome just isn't doing it for me on this one. I usually love chrome. Just looks plane on these to me.

Maybe the same frame but completely different components and back story on the one that just sold. The photos in this link were taking in Huntington Beach California.
