I'll flip the script with today's story...

"THE GREAT RACE", starring Perron...

Isaac aka Zeke...
https://scontent-ort2-2.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/42754212_10156861647314165_1163653382339035136_n.jpg?_nc_cat=110&_nc_oc=AQkJMosXBci0bIjTwfgXdIEv6gcCoI17D6kqobqurRr6WKYWL4nCke_pyhCwlo5aFUpLJp5kck7WQAHdPJ3O_CKy&_nc_ht=scontent-ort2-2.xx&oh=ca126c0db0ef92ea90aba70b296ad040&oe=5DB5FB2D

Ebony...
https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0?ui=2&a … afd2_0.1.1

and the vehicle aka the car...
https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0?ui=2&a … 91eb_0.1.1

So, my son and I rode our mountain bikes to the mechanic to pick up his car.  The mechanic is located about a mile from our house.  Zeke threw his bike in the back of the car, and got ready to drive home.  Half joking, I said, "Beat you home."  Chuckling, he replied, "Okay."  CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!!!

I got the jump, but got stuck at the mechanic's exit while waiting for traffic to thin out.  He rolled up behind me and waited.  Once traffic cleared, I took off like a bat outta hell, and beat him to the turn into our subdivision by using the sidewalk while he was forced to obey traffic patterns.  I went in hot, actually glad that road construction was all over the place because I know that a Schwinn Homegrown eats up dirt, divots, and gravel for breakfast.  I was comfortably in the lead...

...Until further down the paved street, where the boy overtook me, laughing as he passed me.  What he didn't know was that the approaching stop sign had a trick up its sleeve that would weigh in my favor -- a work van whose driver was in no particular hurry to take his turn going through the intersection!

I seized my chance.  As the van began its left turn in front of my son, I throttled toward the back of the van, cleared it and the intersection, got back on unpaved road, and hit the turn onto my street.  Once there, I upshifted, and sped into my driveway -- THE WINNER!!!

Re: Proud fathers thread.............post em' up!

Eli's 15U team played up, and combined with Isaac's High School team for a victory at Northwestern University this afternoon.  Coming back after dislocating his shoulder, Isaac pitched a solid inning of relief, and Eli held it down in RF for an inning.  Isaac is in the back row on the left, and Eli is front row center...

Re: Proud fathers thread.............post em' up!

My son was born in the summer of ‘12. I kid you not that the day he was born I was already envisioning a riding partner and what his first bike would be. Being a Schwinn Predator kid myself I of course decided that his first bike would also be a OS Predator. Well guys and gals, today is the day. Today was our first real ride without training wheels. We actually were able to keep a “normal” pace. He’s a bit wobbly still but getting better and better with every ride. All my kids are happy and healthy, the weather is great on this early fall day and my life is good at this particular moment. Just wanted to share this with you all. Now this doesn’t mean he has to stay a Schwinn kid. If he wants something else in the future then so be it. But that’s up to him. http://uploads.bmxmuseum.com/user-images/95057/c217385a-d45a-4970-a5ad-34eb4f8c7cab5d8d3625a1.jpeg
