2001 Specialized S-Works Factory Frame

Hand welded Proto-type. Magen Long's Factory Frame.

This is a 2001 Factory Proto-type S-works Frame.  The Frame was Built Specially for Magen Long to Race.  She won both the NBL Grands and ABA Grands on this bike. The frame has many differences then the other rare 2001 S-Works. It is also UN-serial number and completely hand welded.  First is that the all the stripes and decals are not under the clear coat.  They are just stickers stuck on.  The Frame also runs a External Brake Cable routing, all the normal hemi’s had internal brake cable routing.  The head tube is much shorter then a any other S-works frame.  The BB shell is relieved differently too.  Very cool piece.  I have been trying to find pictures on her on the bike but haven’t been able to yet.  If I could find a Picture of how it was built up I would like to restore with the same parts as she used in 2001.  So any Information or pictures would be great.

Re: 2001 Specialized S-Works Factory Frame

I have a 2001 as well, are you positive there is no serial number? Mine is very faint under the thick powder coating....  starts with P700...   looks just like mine... Mine is the XL model (They made those white) don't know if you know how the geometry is different than the standard S works.... Get back at me, I'd love to hear more- Ray

If you don't like it, don't buy it...

Old School to New School, ridden it all, but I guess my forte is that Mid School stuff...

I am looking for an orignal Ultra Box build, PM and let me know...

Yup Positive.  I have another 01 s-works, and that one has a serial number.  It also have the decals under the clear coat and internal brake cable routing.  This one has the external welded on brake routing and stickers for decals.  It was completely hand built as a prototype to the 01 S-Works.  I'd love to see pictures of your 01. smile I'm kinda starting to collect a few of the S-works BMX stuff.cool

I would try to get into contact with her directly. I wouldn't think it would be too hard.

WTB: Mid-school red metal flake SDG frame pads. 1998 Speed Series Team frame decals. PM me if you know where to find or have any of these items.
