2012 Volume Sledgehammer 26

26 BMX has now evolved, Volume nailed it on this one!

Props to Brian Castillo for hookin me up!!! This frame is pre serial # prototype used at the 2011 Interbike. It is a hybrid of both Vandal (shorter head tube and longer top tube) and Sledgehammer geometry which makes it unique. Built with Zo6 fork remaining from my 08 Sledgehammer.

Re: 2012 Volume Sledgehammer 26

what brand / model stem is that? the cut-outs on the head tube are very cool. I would very much like to take a ride on a 26" bmx to see how it rides. very nice bike.

Dude you won't be dissapointed wink and it weighs about 28 lbs. The frame has been completely redesigned...no describing on how it behaves...just go ride and see for yourself.

Re: 2012 Volume Sledgehammer 26

Thanks bro! I have been waiting patiently for this frame. That is a retro Sharp 1 1/8 stem. They do pop up on the beta section from time to time and are usually black anno. Before you ride one know that this bike is completely redesigned  so it handles like a new skool bike should.

Re: 2012 Volume Sledgehammer 26

So since you have 2 'Hammers. How different do they ride?I really am contemplating getting a new one but I love my 09 one and dont think I really need two of'em.
Is the BB higher?Easier to bunnyhop manual?

Re: 2012 Volume Sledgehammer 26

I dropped down the Hammer on my Zo6 for this one! This was my Warranty frame crash replacement from Volume and since they do not offer framesets I was fortunate enough to score the Interbike Prototype which has some of the Vandal's frame specs hence 22.5in. TT and shorter headtube  They're different cause it's all new skool 1in. shorter CS >> BB height is not specified but I measure 12+in. and the frame is much lighter than my Zo6 with Dbl butted Sanko tubing, complete bike weighs 28lbs. It capable of doing MAD tricks unlike Sledge's of the past. Bunnyhops and manuals SICK! Give it a try "goride70" you may just sell the 09 for this one wink
