1986 MCS Styler

MCS Freestylin' goodness

I acquired this f/f, bars and stem from Juan M about a year ago and recently completed it (if we assume builds ever end) for the San Diego BBQ/Ride.  These were never sold as completes but rather as kits which is why the few that are still around and in the museum are all different in their own respect.  It was easy to chose a direction to go with on this given the og paint and decal colors.  It took some time but here it is.  By far the lightest build I own, this is one great rider.  Thank you to mazzzze and Charlie Brown for getting me  some of the parts and a special shout out to Vicsta for the incredible photos.  Here is a quick rundown of parts.

Frame/Fork/Bars - 1986 MCS Styler, original paint and decals Stem - MCS Freestyle stem Seatpost - MCS drain pipe post, NOS Seatclamp - Tange, NOS Headset - Tioga Freestyle, NOS Pegs - MCS Grips - YO! grips, NOS Rotor - ACS Pro rotor with customer pink top decal Brakes - Dia Compe 880s Levers - Dia Compe Tech 5, NOS (Japan stamped) Cables - Dia Compe, matching 86 dates Crank - Tioga Task Force OPC BB - Tange, sealed, NOS CD/Disc - Tioga CD's with Tioga chainring bolts Pedals - CW Grinder pedals with pink end caps Seat - Aero Wheels - Peregrine Super Pros, black spokes and nips Freewheel - Suntour, NOS Tires - Panasonic Freestyle, 20 x 1.75 NOS
Thanks for looking, Oscar.

Re: 1986 MCS Styler

As with every bike you put together, this one is amazing.  Your eye for color and parts combos are second to none.  Funny to think I touched this frame before you did.  lol  You should post the picture I sent you of it sitting in Juan's collection.  You've got such a sick collection of bikes and scooters.  I'm still waiting on the scooter group shot...

Thanks CB, really appreciate your feedback.   I will dig out that pic from Juan's collection, glad you took it when you were there.  big_smile  Oh, and the scoot shot is coming.  Kenny and I are bringing them all out for one massive shot soon.  20 + between the 2 of us, yikes

Dude this thing is dope!  The detail is sick... as is all your other rides.  This one is always great to see in person.  The grips worked out well man.  You definitely hooked this up right.  Another job well done my friend!

Re: 1986 MCS Styler

Here is the pic Charlie Brown was talking about.  This was taken by CB during a visit to Juan's.  Thread link below.  I'm sure Charlie got his big paws all over those frame sets, lol

Re: 1986 MCS Styler

That bike is DOPE!!!  MCS had a fairly radical design approach.  Love the color scheme!!!  I thought it might be heavy, but you said it is pretty light.  Great build!!!
