1983 Hutch Pro Star

My holy grail since I was 14.

This is complete and correct except for the seat and the tires. I'm still looking for a "HUTCH" stamped Kashimax, and also some Hutch labeled tires. However, I DO have titanium spokes on this bike which I believe the early Pro Stars came with. They were custom made by Marwi. The pads are real Flight pads from the 80's.....not re-pops! This build took me about two years to complete, and two jobs to afford building it! It was all worth it when my grail was finally sitting in my living room.
Here's the parts breakdown......

Frame & fork - 1983 Hutch Pro Star w/ original chrome & stickers. #1230374 serial number. Un-drilled fork
Bars - Hutch Pro, original chrome
Grips - Hutch
Stem - Hutch "deep H" Pro, original chrome
Headlock - Hutch medium, original chrome
Headset - Tange 125, original chrome
Seat - Hutch
Seatpost - Hutch, original chrome
Seatclamp - Hutch magnesium, polished
Cranks - Hutch Aerospeed, rechromed
Disc - Hutch Aerospeed, rechromed
Chainring - Tuff Neck, original chrome
Chain - Izumi chrome/black
Pedals - Hutch Pro, rechromed
Brakes - Dia-compe MX1000's, chrome
Hubs - Hutch ti/mag, polished
Spokes - Marwi titanium
Rims - Araya 7x 20x1.75, original chrome
Tires - NOS Tioga Comp III's blue/silver label
Valve caps - Original Hutch Rad Kaps
Numberplate - Hutch Stadium plate
Pads - 80's Flight Hutch pads (not re-pops)

Re: 1983 Hutch Pro Star

Love it!!!!!  That is one bike I want to build and would replica what you have done.  Everything is perefect.  All you're missing is the caps for the cranks.

The decals are original and yes they are scratched up a bit. I would rather leave them original instead of putting a re-pop decal on this bike. Thanks for the compliments!

Re: 1983 Hutch Pro Star

I'm going to echo what Mike said " how did I miss this gem"?

Great job... I love the fact that you have real deal speeds and real deal pad set, oh and og decals.
Love it. I'd put a regular black Kashi on it though until I found a Hutch stamped one.

Truely Grail material right here. I'm going to look at the pictures again now.
