CANNONDALE Scores today, and a Powerlite too

I had a chance to buy a Cannondale so I put up a feeler thread to see if they were good bikes or not.  Of course there were responses both ways (thanks to ALL that replied!!), but it generated enough interest that I thought it would be cool to own one.  So I hit the road and drove 90 minutes one way to go pick it up.  It turns out that he had 2 of them, and threw in a Powerlite frame with a DCMX clamp on it , Maxy Cross cranks, and a cool plaid midschool pad cover.  I wiped down the CANNONDALEs but I think I'll use some polish and wax on them to get the color to come out a bit more.  The red one is an expert I think, and the blue one is a pro I think.  Please chime in with any info you may have about these framesets.  I'm gonna have to do a little work to get the post out of the blue one, but I don't think it'll be a problem.  Other than that, there isn't a single ding or crack in either one!!

I have never seen a cannondale bmx in person but I would love to own one. I've had a few Dale roadbikes and a mtnbike and they were all quality rigs - bet those are to

Agreed. Welds almost look like fillet brazing for a seamless look. That is the detail I have always loved most about C'Dale. That and those huge downtubes.

The red one is a pro sized, and the blue one is an pro xl size, as evidenced by the sticker on the seat tube. Very cool pieces you got there!

Well that's great news!!!  Do you know how long the TT is on an Expert??  And do you know for a fact that the red one is a Pro then?  I haven't been able to find much info on these.
thanks for your help big_smile

Re: CANNONDALE Scores today, and a Powerlite too

Nice frames. There's a blue 'survivor' racer complete on Craigslist, the dude wants US$1,200 for it. I have a C'dale MTN & a Black Lightning 3.0 road race bike, one day I'd like a BMX to fill a void in the stable. Congratulations, thx for posting them up.

Re: CANNONDALE Scores today, and a Powerlite too

Cannondale was an awesome company. There will be mixed reviews on that no doubt, but all in all a cool story.
Started in the loft of a pickle barn making bike bags and trailers i believe, ended in sinking all their money trying to produce a fully USA made dirt bike/atv. They had some great ideas, but couldn't make it cost effective.
I'd like to own one of the enduros, but I wouldn't want to hunt down parts when something breaks.
