Our portable 8 1/2' quarter pipe.  Man I loved this ramp!  A <somewhat> controlled fly-out from BITD.

This wedge ramp weighed a ton.  Was good for doubles, though.  Love the Ozzy Osborn wanna-be w/o the shirt...

Forgot about this one.  A welder who's sons raced offered to build us a better ramp for doing shows. It was almost too light, felt like you were riding a piece of styrofoam.

Re: RAMPS, Gates, Half pipes, Lets see what you built for BMX

Here's a question for those of you who have a halfpipe in your backyard.  Have you experienced any "trouble" from your homeowner's insurance providers?

tk4130  - WOW!  That double air is IMPRESSIVE on a ramp that narrow!  WOW!

Up here in Canada we just had to sign a simple waiver (parents if you were under 18), or all you had to do was post a "no trespassing" and a "ride at your own risk" sign and you were good.

Re: RAMPS, Gates, Half pipes, Lets see what you built for BMX

Never thought about insurance, but I have had problems with my neighbour. She gave me a right old telling off for going...Bump Bump....Bump Bump...Instead of telling her where to shove it I found myself stuttering and looking at my feet like a kid, and at 42 years old looking a proper dick. Next time I hear her on her "favourite ride" I`ll shout at her!

Re: RAMPS, Gates, Half pipes, Lets see what you built for BMX

Here are a couple of pics from back in 83' when a friend of mine invited us all to his grandmother's house to build a quarter pipe during an all nighter.  It was in close proximity to where we all lived, so it was well worth the investment.  This is the first quarter pipe any of us ever rode on.  These pics were taken at about 3 am on after we finished it.  The MTV logo spray painted on the ramp was my idea and a cool one at that....

http://i1317.photobucket.com/albums/t640/pushittothemax/Mikequarterpipe832_zpsa010f6ec.jpg
And here is what we were riding back then...my ride was the Quad on the right with Graphites and Aerospeeds.

Re: RAMPS, Gates, Half pipes, Lets see what you built for BMX

These are left from my motorcycle days, quit about a year ago.  I'm thinking of turning the tall narrow one into my starting ramp and working the others into the run of dirt jumps I have.  I have yet to hit any of them on a bicycle.  Not sure I will.

Well I made the former mx ramp into a start, saves a bunch of dirt.
