1988 Redline RL-20II

Old-skool rider. Didn't think that I shouldn't be riding it until I got on here!

Bought the bike from a co-worker back in 1996-7 for a small fee.  I had a 1985 green Haro Master at the time, but was impressed with how much stronger the Redline felt.  I ended up taking parts and making one bike.  The Redline got the 400 series cranks, Perigrine wheels, and BOA front Brake.  The Master got the one-piece crank with CD sprocket, the aerodynamic 48's, and the silver Dia-Compe brake(which made a matching set).  I ended up trading that bike for a 1981 VW Jetta, which was a solid car for years.  Of course now, looking back I regret it.  ****SOLD****

I like the changes you made to it.  I wouldn't change a thing on this.  So much character!  Cool.  smile

That is the epitome of survivor.  That bike is a purpose built piece of machinery that has survived a decade or two, and still means business.  Love it.

Re: 1988 Redline RL-20II

Awesome bike.
I had sugino stamped 400 series cranks on my 88 Rl-20II, until it was stolen. I thought they were Redline knockoffs until I found bmxmuseum. lol
