1982 Scorpion LE
1982 Scorpion LE
f/f
This appears to be the entry level frame from the original color (metallic red) from the ads I've seen. I powdered this in neon yellow for something different. Eventually I was to do a replica of one of these.

Re: 1982 Scorpion LE
He lives in the Traverse City aera.
I live in WI, But I was at his house not to long ago (he has a huge collection.) and saw that frame and fork hanging in his basment! (how many people have a day glow yellow scorpion frame/fork?
I talked to him last night, he bought his from a guy in southern MI.
I email him a photo from above and he says that is his frame and fork now.
He used to be a member here.

Re: 1982 Scorpion LE
I'm not sure but I think NBKA is referring to the picture in the beginning of the thread which was a frame I sold him & is a scorpion. The link you have posted for your looks like a kuwi to me and the ones I saw were red / white / blue faded. I'm not an expert & I'm not claiming to be but I've only seen scorpions with the gusset in my pic or without a gusset at all.
It's also my understanding the scorpions were designed to Byron Friday's specifications (the later models)

Re: 1982 Scorpion LE
The frame is definitely a Scorpion "sentinel" from either 81 or 82. If you check the same year Puch challenger you will also find the same model. I had 4 "sentinels" in that time frame and they all cracked in the DT right below the gusset. Lucky Scorpion was still in business and they replaced them all for free! I really miss they bike and hope to find one some day.
