Perfection!  That is one of nicest S&M race builds I've ever seen.  Top notch, brother.

BTW, IIRC the S&S chainwheel was actually called the Buzzsaw.  I have been looking for one for years.  I bought one at the Steel City Classic in PA back in '92.

Miko,

I owned both a first gen Tigertooth and a second gen since back in the day. I know my original first gen one came with packaging like the one shown below. I honestly don't remember if the second gen one came in packaging or not but I have always heard them referred to as Tigerteeth or a Tigertooth. Mongoose did make a very similiar chainwheel to the second gen S&S sprocket called the Chainsaw II. Any additional info you or anyone else has would be very welcome as this is the first I have heard of a name change on the sprockets. Let me know

Here is my Nos first gen.

So exactly how rare are Widowmakers ?  I don't think I've heard a definitive answer on the number produced..... (Sorry if this has already been discussed).

(And yes, I do have one !!)

Chris Moeller the owner of S&M bikes decided to sign Dee and to produce a signature frame for him that would be essentially be a 24" Holmes. The frame would be named after Dee’s new band Widowmaker was produced in mid to late 93 until 94. With less than a hundred frames ever being produced the Widowmaker would become one of the most sought after Mid School cruisers ever.

This will answer your questions guys. Production was less than a hundred,

Re: S&M Widowmaker "My Holy Grail Build"

Such a shame a bike with history, a rare stickered factory bike, killer parts, a true survivor to be turned into a carpet queen. To me this lost it's rarity once you removed the decals.

Re: S&M Widowmaker "My Holy Grail Build"

i have to agree with greg, nothing personal stephen, but that was the most unique widow with those decals on it. BUT in the back of my head i have always wondered if those holmes decals were factory applied, or added later. either way, its an awesome bike!

Re: S&M Widowmaker "My Holy Grail Build"

Greg,

You might want to try and be correct with your statements but it seems like all you are trying to do is drag me through the mud again. It was rumored to be a bike stickered at the factory not a rare stickered factory bike. Your statement leads people to think this was a factory rider's bike. Yes the purple stickers were rumored to be applied at the factory but that has never been confirmed, nor could it be. I do feel it did lose some of it's history by removing the purple stickers but like others I have my doubts if that history had anything to do with the S&M factory.

Wow.... I thought he was a kiss ass, but your brought it straight into Moeller's Chocolate Starfish. Way to be original with a build. Can't wait to see what parts you swap out for this years show STEPHEN.

It was pretty common in the early 90's to remove decals on chrome bikes. Everybody wanted "all chrome." Maybe Beastie Boys style "my chrome is shinin like an icicle, ride around town on my low rider bicycle."  I remember spending a lot of time with WD-40 and Gum Off trying to remove decals from various chrome frames.

So it's very likely someone removed the Widowmaker decals (like the guy did who I bought my Widow from in 1995). But at the same time it would not be surprising either  for an S&M employee to slap a Holmes sticker on just for the hell of it.
