1982 Healing Industries HMX 500

What a mess!

As found, half buried in a garden. Rusted but not the worst one I've worked with.
The guy that owned it gave me this one, a mk1 HMX 500, a HMX 600 and the chrome HMX 500 that is now rebuilt and purple.
Seems that when he had finished with a bike he'd just dump it in the garden or the swamp at the back of his house and get another one.

Wow. He just builds bikes and tosses them in a garden to rot? What a waste!

Re: 1982 Healing Industries HMX 500

Not really. More a case of having bought them brand new, thrashing them then discarding at the back of the property and buying another new one. I found bikes ranging from 1975 through to 1988 in the swampy land beyond his back lawn. I'm guessing his parents stopped financing his wasteful childhood at the end of the eighties.
