Re: lets see those rc cars
Waiting for someone to ask me about this mod to the gear box.
Using a hollow Tamiya spacer tube and a few washers and an Allen cap screw, this mod is made possible to clamp the gearbox from ballooning under load. It’s the number one killer of the Frog, Brat, Blackfoot and Monster Beetle’s gear train design.

Re: lets see those rc cars
Rebuilding the Revo’s transmission today. I had a buddy with some better engineering skills than me lock 2nd gear so I can get reverse back. So far things are going well, a lot of dirt built up and grease deposits everywhere but a good cleaning and well placed lubricant should make this thing better.
This is 2nd gear locked.

Sweet, I had to do the same thing on my old nitro-powered T-Maxx locking out second. got a big old box of aluminum goodies for my super baja rey, just had a chance to test it out and it handles smooth as butter. 44lbs now she may need to go on a diet!

Re: lets see those rc cars
the top one is a Marui Hunter from 1984.
Next is a Tamiya Rough Rider, their first buggy. Made in 1979. It is very much based on VW beetle racing buggies and Tamiya actually ripped off Rob Maynard racing for the stylings.
Then a Kyosho from 1980, Circuit 20 1/8 scale nitro buggy.
Some cool stuff.
Every time I get on my bike I win. Ms.BMX.

Cool, but why? I just don't get the large scale R/C stuff. At that point I think I'd rather have something I can actually sit in. The biggest scale I have owned was a 1/8 scale buggy, 5th scale looks awesome if you have the place. I watched a 1/4 scale (I think) on road and all I thought was you could have a go cart for that price. Jut my opinion anyhow.

I can see how scale can play in the overall aesthetic.
Another cool video

Re: lets see those rc cars
Lotta awesome scale stuff simply needs to be larger in size to fit all the pieces to make the thing functional.
Turbine engined choppers and jets, etc.....
Lots of cool ships and construction vehicles out there too.

This was actually pretty cool. He sends a glider up on a weather balloon. Too bad he had so many issues but still super cool video, and he obviously got it back.

Used to race them when I was a kid. Did have a fling again about 8 years ago though. I had a Schumacher Cougar KR.
Any one order donuts?
I also had a Kyosho Sand Master for running on the beach. No way I was going to wreck a carbon Schumacher doing that.

Re: lets see those rc cars
That's not that big. That's still completely reasonable IMO. The Big on road ones I watched were 4 times that size.
