Grabbed this at Goodwill not long ago. Looks brand new after wiping an inch of dust off it. Works perfect with batteries installed. https://s3.amazonaws.com/uploads.bmxmuseum.com/user-images/76036/743d2e5c-b14b-4c78-ae20-f65d461999aa5fd0738397.jpeg

He offered me if I wanted them and I said sure I'll have a look. He brings me a bag of shit and surprisingly he had a Revo 3.3 transmission in there. I picked it up and it felt heavier than usual so I opened it up to see if it had the Robinson Racing hardened steel gears like mine and it did, so my thoughts were to lock second gear so I can get reverse back. Little did I know that he already did!!

Now it’s just a matter of me swapping around some gears and maybe freshen up some bearings in the trans/transfer case and I’ll get rid of my mechanical brake and get reverse going!!

Good stuff! I kinda regret taking the reverse gears and servo out of the 1st gen MAXX but I’m to lazy to set it back the way it was. lol

I think he gave me some T-MAXX parts too. A transmission, some mounts and a few other things. I also had in storage a bunch of A-arms and other assorted parts for a Revo. Not sure if you’d be interested in any of that but I’m looking to unload a lot of these extra parts. Just let me know brother!

Very nice offer and thanks. I shall let you know. big_smile

Re: lets see those rc cars

That's the last electric RC car that I owned . The team associated RC10 with the gold chassis. I have went to the Nitro side of the RC world but a few of the newer electric kits have me just about ready to try out the electric world again.

Pros,  no having to break in the engines or having to adjust the low speed and high speed settings, no carburetor adjustments. Basically, have the batteries charged and turn on.

Cons, having to stop everything to swap out batteries to keep running. The cost of the better batteries "lipos" are expensive. Gotta have at least 2 sets of batteries so that you don't have to wait for them to charge.

I have heard about the different run times per batteries/electric RC cars and trucks and it depends on how much you are pushing the car or truck . Basically, I have gathered that run times or length of the charge varies from person to person and their driving style or habits .

I sold almost all of my gear with the exception of my tool sets, battery charger and kept my lift for repairs or just tuning and maintenance work. I have a lot of fuel line, springs and some extra spare parts for my traxxas jato3.3 since it is my favorite RC car/stadium truck. I have always been into the street racing or drag racing aspect of this game so I like to fly and be able to stop when need be. That was a serious issue with the jato 3.3s but I figured that out and know about some nicer more effective brake set ups for them plus, you can run turbos and I also learned that the carbs are holding them back but there are carb upgrades that can be made to make them run better and faster cool

I will definitely be getting another jato but the electric world is still in the air because I would rather run at full throttle and not have a certain time length because of the battery life.

I'm wanting to hear how long you electric RC car guys are getting out of the batteries, what batteries you are running etc etc. Any extra info about the electric cars and trucks would be greatly appreciated. I would rather hear the truth from someone who is into the hobby and not trying to sell me on things or have a  hobby shop trying to direct in a particular direction. I can make that choice as well as being able to work on my own vehicles. Thanks in advance for any extra electric rc car and truck info in advance cool

Re: lets see those rc cars

Here are the 3 top electric rc cars on my radar and I know 2 if them are 1/7 scale

Traxxas 4tec 2.0 awd
You can leave them alone and let them look like a super car or you can buy a new body and customize your old school classic muscle car to fit the chassis cool

Re: lets see those rc cars

Traxxas X-01 and capable of 100+ MPH yikes
It comes as the super car but I like to put different bodies on my cars and trucks for that custom look cool

Re: lets see those rc cars

Heres a electric RC street racer that I don't have much knowledge about at all.
Arrma felony 1/7 and a 85 plus mph rc car
It comes with the old classic body that looks like the custom mod body. You can leave the wing or run without and you can leave the hood look stock or you can put the blower on as well as some other hood mods is you choose.

Re: lets see those rc cars

Now here we go, the traxxas jato3.3 cool
I like the change that traxxas made to the stock paint scheme.

Then of course, my personal favorite body. I cut this 1970 mustang body to fit the jato 3.3 cool
It only seemed right to be badged a 429 Boss to me. I know that I have posted the jato mustang in this thread but just wanted to show it off again as well as my personal favorite nitro rig.
I will get another jato but now all of the electric vehicles and the advancements are catching my interest.

I used to be in to gas Monster trucks and on road racers. but hated you had to retune them. every time you took them to a new spot to drive. you still had to pit at races to refule gasc tank.. so I don't get the battery thing. if you have 8 battery's like me you can play most of the day. I don't pay for the high end lipos. I still run old school 80's style there $20.00 each. run time is no bad. sure I loser a tiny bit speed you may get from lipos. but for the price of one good lipo I can by 3 os style battery's..

Usually you just have to tune them to run in the climate or temperatures that you are running in.

Now the lipo batteries are the difference between running at 40 mph to being able to run 80+ mph.

Re: lets see those rc cars

Here are some pictures of the jato 3.3 with a supercharger

Here's a picture of one with a supercharger and all of the alloy upgrades done to it. Pretty expensive machine when you look at all of the upgrades that are installed
https://s3.amazonaws.com/uploads.bmxmuseum.com/user-images/38139/315ff488fe31.jpg

Completely stock jato3.3
https://s3.amazonaws.com/uploads.bmxmuseum.com/user-images/38139/80258_traxxas_traxxas_550773_jato_3.3_2wd_rtr_tqi__35ff48920bc.jpg

I would also like to check out the exo carbon upgrade kit that is super light and in turn, more speed. I like to be able to mess around and play with my tune to see the front wheels pop up when it hits 2nd gear. But when it comes to a flat out drag race, I want my springs stiff and the front wheels staying down so that my ride is squatting down and holding the car down tight to the pavement or concrete. I like how the alloy looks and blings but you create more weak points when adding the heavy duty alloy parts. I usually keep my jatos on pavement/street racing but even though they are 2wd they do pretty good on dirt tracks.
Probably why I like them so much is because they are very universal.

I would like to find one of the older nitro 4tec 3.3 awd cars too. Those are super fast and they handled great. You just have to have it dialed in or you will run right through tires with a quickness.
If I can find a nice nitro 4tec then I might just have to trim up a fox body mustang for it so that I can have a fox body mustang street racer too.

If I am going to be doing a bunch of dirt racing and hitting big jumps then I will roll with the revo 3.3
Heres a revo3.3 platinum edition that I had and painted the body all silver. Its sitting next to a 20 inch bmx wheel just for size reference cool

Re: lets see those rc cars

Heres one of my jato 3.3s, the silver revo 3.3 platinum edition and then the older revo 2.5 that I did a engine swap and put what they/ the RC world calls a big block engine in it. You can see the tremendous difference between the two revos and just the overall size and wheel base changes. When the big block was broken in and running great, it was a beast and being a 4x4 , it would definitely overpower the other 2 and would pull them around with them just spinning the wheels right off of them.
https://s3.amazonaws.com/uploads.bmxmuseum.com/user-images/38139/rccars0015ff48f65ac.jpg

I am glad that I kept all of my tools, lifts , different shock springs so that I could run tighter or run them with a little bit more flexibility for off road running. I have a neighbor who is a RC car guy as well as a good mechanic and I was helping him tune one of his nitro vehicles and that damn RC bug bit me again tongue
I had to dig out all of my gear and tools just to make sure what I have left or kept because I knew that I would be back. Now I am looking around at all of the newer cars released in the last cpl years and damn, there are some straight up beasts out there on the market. RC cars and trucks go right along with my bikes and they are very addictive to me and start to overwhelm my mind lol

I have been radar speed gun clocked at 68 miles PH in my eclectic funny car. with a old 80's type 7 cell battery. most of the speed was do to my winds in the motor. it's a stupid light RC. very simple . can't really tur for squat. built for straight line  drag racing.

Re: lets see those rc cars

You hit those speeds in the old school gold chassis team associated RC10?

I had that same exact car and it would not come close to even thinking about going that fast. You have a freek:P of a team associated old school buggy. You sure that you are not running a newer engine with a lipo battery?
That blows my mind yikes

Arrma felony 1/7 and a 85 plus mph rc car
It comes with the old classic body that looks like the custom mod body. You can leave the wing or run without and you can leave the hood look stock or you can put the blower on as well as some other hood mods is you choose.

I have been eyeballing the Arrma line up lately... wink
What has my eye: Felony, Mojave 6s and the Infraction.

Solid feedback from the community on all 3.
The only gripe is the avail of tires for the Felony and Infraction.  Apparently you can wear out the tires in 2 to 3 aggressive driving sessions (drifting, tire smoke etc).

Re: lets see those rc cars

Check it out
I am wanting at least a 1/10 nitro street racer or two possibly. Anyone have a newer jato3.3 rtr with the 2.4ghz radio system that they might sell?
A nitro 4tec 3.3 nitro is another one that I like and with a 2.4ghz system as well.

Send me a PM if you have any of these in good running condition with no issues. One that you just don't mess with anymore. I don't want anything that's been totalled either lol
Just shoot me a PM if you have anything, what you are including and what comes with the machine. I would appreciate it guys.
