1999 Dyno VFR

"Lisa" A quick pickup for $20.....    and now my first complete rebuild

I bought it off of Craigslist from some rich kid who probably would have just given it to me. It has some very light surface rust but a good vinegar bath should clear that right up.

Re: 1999 Dyno VFR

haven't tried the vinager trick, i know its a great cleaner but have you ever used ocsilac acid! works a treat & doesn't kill the stickers wink

Re: 1999 Dyno VFR

Never heard of it. They sell it at like home depot? But the decals are shot anyway I got me some fresh ones. I don't care too much for red. So I'm going with blue

Re: 1999 Dyno VFR

Nice pick up, and for the price....STEAL!!!  What do you use to scrub the rust with?  I know with vinegar, but do you use brillo, scotch pad, steel wool, etc.

Re: 1999 Dyno VFR

I would have used a scotch brite pad but instead I just used a mr clean magic eraser. And that did the trick. But I do need to give it a good polish now cause it got a little hazy

The handle bar is a classic. The paint job is also good. Fine job.

Awesome and unique bike here!  I love the color combo and the choice of parts.  The pretzels seal the deal.  smile

Re: 1999 Dyno VFR

Thanks fellas after it was stolen when i recovered it I had to clean it up some but it is back to pristine condition again. This is by far my favorite of the 13 VFR's that I own.
