Re: 1997 ELF Pro XL

I dont think this is a traction plate. The name traction plate refers specifically to the square rear ends that were on them. I believe yours to be before the traction plate. Maybe their first dable in aluminum frames.

Re: 1997 ELF Pro XL

hmmmm. so most likely a 97' aluminum pro xl pre traction plate, 1st gen aluminum model? eventhough i know of only two aluminum models made the dx-lll and the traction plate. so if its not a traction plate what is it called? only one other guy has one that has round tube chainstays but says its a 96' also it has the butted downtube not the gussets.  dont think they made these till 97'. any experts care to clarify?

Just glad somebody picked up that bargain.  It is regardless very rare.

Stuff I want: 2000 24" DB Reactor Team frame ,  Voxom and Enigma stuff. Alliant / Radix stem and stuff.  JW and Stiffys stuff.  Cool late mid-school cruiser parts.

Re: 1997 ELF Pro XL

I got this frame back in 96 and have held on to it through the years.  Just got done rebuilding it last year.  Will post pictures.  I can't find anything about what the frame is called specifically as ELF shutdown before websites were even used for business asset. Congrats, Man!
