1987 GT Pro Freestyle Tour Team Model

Custom Green 87 PFTT

This was originally a dayglow pink model . It had been crudely part stripped by the previous owner and was desperately in need of some love.
It's taken about a year and a half to complete as I made the mistake of having 3 other bikes on the go at the same time. The F+F, seat post and bars were all prof. powdered by SBD on Radbmx and the job is stunning. It was a slow journey for me but eventually found all the parts needed. The Ukai speedlines are NOS and a thing of beauty. The sealed Super lace hubs were also NOS and just out of the GT box!
Still needs alittle tinkering but basically it's there
Has the FS stamp and 78712##

GT Power Series Cranks SR 175 with sealed bearings
GT Super lace hubs NOS
GT Fork Standers
GT Frame Standers
GT Seat Clamp
GT EPOCH Headset
GT Seat Post with round text/circle
GT Tyres NOS
Ukai Speedline Rims NOS
Ame Bubble font grips NOS
Odyssey Gyro
Nippon front brake was NOS
SR 474 Pedals
Dia compe 990 rear brake dated 87
Dia Compe Tech 7 brake levers, 128
Decals were from AJK from a few years back
Ody NOS brake cables
GT 3 winged powerdisc NOS, was straight out the packet and ano removed then polished
GT 43t chainring

Re: 1987 GT Pro Freestyle Tour Team Model

i'm SORT of new to actually learning about the old bikes.  what was the main difference between the freestyle and the performer?  they look very, very similar to me.

LOVING that color and build, man, super sweet!

Looking for GT Performer forks - maybe.  Lemme know what you have!

V-bars, knobby tires, and chain guards - Oh, yeah!  big_smile

Beefier components, all-chromoly frame, 3-piece cranks, 36-spoke Superlace wheels instead of the Performer mags, etc. Also, look at the frame's bottom tube with the double curve. The Performer's bottom tube only has a single curve.
