1985 GJS Big Tube

Survivor condition! SOLD

I picked this up today. Paid top $ but I think it is well worth it because of the rarity and the great condition it is in. The Oakley .5's are mint and the Panaracers still have release powder on them. The bike rides very well and it is actually pretty light in weight. The rear wheel looks like it was not the original wheel because of the different hub and rim to the front. Here is the parts breakdown.
GJS Big Tube frame & forks
Tuff Neck Pro Model stem
Redline V-Bars
Oakley .5 grips
Panaracer 1.75 & 2.125 tires
Rear Ukai rim with Sintour LF hub
Front Araya 7X with Suzue LF hub
Takagi MX one piece cranks
Nitto Chromoly seatpost
MX seat
Shimano Tourney brakes
Dia Compe Tech 3 lever

What an awesome find!

Still searching for my missing bikes from BITD. 1979 Blue Max serial: CI9 221346 and 1977 Webco serial: 42667. Both were last seen at Spoke and Sport Bicycles in Spokane, WA around 1984. $600 reward if found!!

Man you don't see these too often.  Very cool!

Re: 1985 GJS Big Tube

I remember when that bike first came out at our local BMX store and it sat on display forever because no one knew what it was and no one dared to be different and take a chance on buying it. I always thought it was so cool, no one knew who bought that bike or where it went but I was waiting for the price to come down to clearance so I could afford it (paper route money) LOL!.

No matter where you go, there you are!.

Re: 1985 GJS Big Tube

Wow. The large diameter tubing makes it looks like a mid-90's bike before its time !!  cool

Re: 1985 GJS Big Tube

Another great thing about this bmx museum is you get to see rare bikes that you did not know were made, reminds me of a team jag that sat in a department store for a long time and every Thursday night every one that was in to bmx would drool over it,
