I think you're over thinking the parabolas for the cage shape. It looks like your cages are like the old razor backs. They were spring steel sold in flat stock form, and were thin enough to follow the shape the x body that held them in shape. If you're hard pressed for aluminum cages you just have to heat them up with a even heat source (oven) and hand bend them around the pedal body, and the quench them with water.
ps nylatron has a lubrication function designed into the material, and become really slippery.

the parabolas were for the bodies not the cages

rough draft. maybe look a little too much like jp but they are the same size and shape as xc II's only cnc'd and sealed bearing. they will take crupi / jp spindles but the cages from xc ii's wont fit becasue i hate their bolt pattern. might happen and might not if i cant get them just right i wont make them at all. next onto cad then cnc easy pro and then to a mill but only if i can truely figure out the parabolas but i think it will be no problem for uncle to calculate... hopefully

Re: square vs. round age old pedal question

going to cut the first ones tomorrow. i was going to make them out of 6061 aluminum but found a big block of aircraft grade 7075 at school today that was donated by an aerospace company. each of these pedal bodies went from being made of $5 worth of aluminum to $15 yikes your not going to find any production pedals made out of this stuff cool i cut enough to do 3 sets but i can do as many as time will permit me to. keeping in  mind i need spindles and cages too ofcourse
