1994 S&M DIRTBIKE

Working on building this back up like I had it in 94.

I got this frame from Chris Moeller in 94 direct from the old S&M warehouse. I remember that day I left with this frame, Pitchforks, some shirts, and a copy of 44 Something. One of the best days ever. I rode this bike every day back then.
At some point when I was older I quit riding and needed a buck, so I sold it on ebay with Pitchforks, Redneck, and Brand X seatpost. I regretted selling it right away. Years went by and I found bmxmuseum.com and low n' behold, there's my Dirtbike! Listed as a 1989! It turns out, Gary had been the one who won the auction on my frame. I contacted him and worked out buying my old Dirtbike back. It was a dream come true. At some point I actually came across an original sticker set and re-stickered it back to how it was when it was new.

Wow man, that's an awesome story.    I can't believe you found an original sticker set.    Too good.

Re: 1994 S&M DIRTBIKE

I have no plans on building this one, only because it's too small for me to ride.

Mark- I'll think about it.

Re: 1994 S&M DIRTBIKE

I guess I changed my mind. I recently scored an old bike just for the parts, so today I threw em together on my Dirtbike. I was just jonzin' to wrench on a bike, and I thought I'd take some photos while it's built. Didn't have grips or a brake lever, oh well.

Re: 1994 S&M DIRTBIKE

Pretty neat story,
I do sometimes get rid of bikes if the reason seems good enough.
Glad to have the bike back with the original rider..

Re: 1994 S&M DIRTBIKE

Definately an awesome story....not as awesome as the frame.  I wish I could find a few certain things I let go of in the past (...don't we all).  Amazing to have found that stickerset, I've never even personally seen one with those.

That frame looks better and better each time I see it.  Reminds me of this Green Day logo from the Dookie album.

Miko-

I'm sure that's where these graphics came from. Remember 44 Something had a song from the Kerplunk record in it...

My buddy Will from way back had the same Dirtbike in dark blue.

Re: 1994 S&M DIRTBIKE

Super story Ryan! I didn't realize 990's were still optional in '94( I was done riding about a year or so before then). Bike looks great just "thrown together". I am building my 89' as we speak. Unfortunately I am in the same boat and the frame is really too small to ride it much, but I don't ride that often anymore so what the heck, right. Gives me something to ride around on when my son is riding his GT Jr Performer(just picked up a Dirtbike Jr frame for him though!)

Awesome bike!

Thanks man! It's back on the wall, I had to use some of those parts.

I think I saw a Dirtbike Jr. on the Bay recently.

Re: 1994 S&M DIRTBIKE

Where did you come across those decals? I think I have this exact frame and wanna get those sick decals.

Looking for these decals: Berringer bar, any S&M shield decals you have.

Looking for these parts, PM me if you have: Pivitol seat, purple rims, Ti 48 spline spindle, any Ti parts.

I found the sticker set on ebay quite some time ago. They're the only loose sticker set for a 94 Dirtbike I've ever seen, so good luck in your hunt. If they ever show up on ebay again, they'll probably go for 10 times what I paid for mine.
