Shouldn't you have gone with a American made frame? Being evel and his love for harleys and everything

Re: Evel Knievel Tribute Bike... NEW SCHOOL STYLE!!

Yeah, I know what your thinking everyone remembers him on a Harley but early on in his career, Evel rode & JUMPED everything from Honda's to Triumph's and BSA's also... so I didn't feel the need to stay American made, I ALWAYS try to when the product is equal or better than a foreign made one... in this instance that's not the case!! Thanks for your 2 cents!

Re: Evel Knievel Tribute Bike... NEW SCHOOL STYLE!!

OK so after some serious STRIPPING & POLISHING time some progress has been made, I'm nearly done with the rear triangle. I've posted a couple of pics... but I used a camera phone so the photo's don't really do justice to the luster & shine I've been able to achieve. More pics & hopefully BETTER pics SOON!!!http://i853.photobucket.com/albums/ab99/flatlandfox/Evel%20Knievel%20Tribute%20Bike/reartri2.jpg... & http://i853.photobucket.com/albums/ab99/flatlandfox/Evel%20Knievel%20Tribute%20Bike/RearTri1.jpg

What you did was very spiteful, but it was also very brave and very honest and I respect you for doing that. But the content of what you said has made me hate you. So there's a layer of respect, admittedly, for your truthfulness, but it's peppered with hate. Hateful respect.

Re: Evel Knievel Tribute Bike... NEW SCHOOL STYLE!!

OK, GOOD NEWS IS... ALL POWDER COAT HAS BEEN REMOVED, Bad news... it's time to polish an entire chromoly frame. Heres what I've got so far... I'ts not chrome plated so it will never be that shiny, but it is chromoly tubing...  so it's capable of getting pretty BRIGHT & SHINY!!! This has been a VERY SLOW PROCESS, but very well worth it. I'm about 10 hours into polishing-http://i853.photobucket.com/albums/ab99/flatlandfox/Evel%20Knievel%20Tribute%20Bike/skvrearpolished.jpghttp://i853.photobucket.com/albums/ab99/flatlandfox/Evel%20Knievel%20Tribute%20Bike/FullSkvFramePolishedMG_3470.jpghttp://i853.photobucket.com/albums/ab99/flatlandfox/Evel%20Knievel%20Tribute%20Bike/skvheadsetPolished.jpg It's getting there but still a LOOOOOOOOOOOONG way to go!!! Thanks for looking!

Re: Evel Knievel Tribute Bike... NEW SCHOOL STYLE!!

Dude !!! That frame is really lookin' good.  I polished my OM Flyer.  It's made on aluminum and is much softer than Cro-Mo.  Took about 18-20 hr, so I can imagine the work ahead for you.  Looks like it will be worth the effort.

Re: Evel Knievel Tribute Bike... NEW SCHOOL STYLE!!

in the future when stripping the powder  hit it qiuckly with a heavy sand paper ,then apply the stripper and cover the whole bike in a 3 mil trash back and leave it fort an hour or so ,,.it makes heat in the bag and stops the evaporation of the stripper ..pm me if you want it chromed im dropping off a few things next week should be pretty cheap ..

too bad so sad ..

Re: Evel Knievel Tribute Bike... NEW SCHOOL STYLE!!

It's official the FUN has just started... with having most of the prep work on the frame finally done. Components have STARTED to arrive, YES!!!!! My Mailman & the UPS guy both showed up yesterday... & they brought me some GOODIES.http://i853.photobucket.com/albums/ab99/flatlandfox/Evel%20Knievel%20Tribute%20Bike/SMSLAMBARSXLTBoxBars.jpghttp://i853.photobucket.com/albums/ab99/flatlandfox/Evel%20Knievel%20Tribute%20Bike/crossbar.jpg The pics don't do this CHROME justice I SWEAR!!!! I not certain about the decals on these, I'm considering replacing the yellow in the traditional S&M shield logo with blue... making it Red, White, & Blue & keeping w/the EK theme.http://i853.photobucket.com/albums/ab99/flatlandfox/Evel%20Knievel%20Tribute%20Bike/ProfileBMXCrankBOX.jpgNext up we have a set of Profile Racing's Retro Box Cranks in 175mm. I've heard the chrome plating on some of these retro cranks was less than GOOD!!! But the person I bought them from assured me this was not the case, these are # 021 produced of 500 so I'm guessing the lower #'s still had a high quality control... or just DUMB LUCK!!! Either way these cranks are near FLAWLESS!!! I'm also going with Profile's TITANIUM spindle kit.http://i853.photobucket.com/albums/ab99/flatlandfox/Evel%20Knievel%20Tribute%20Bike/ProfileBMXcranks.jpg So thats what I've got & I'm hoping for a few more packages today!!
