i love stuff that guys make in the garage or shop, maybe in a little spare time at work if you are a machinist or something.

i'm working on these pedals at school. i think they will be pretty sweet after i sand and polish them. getting the bearing bore just right so that the spindle length perfectly offsets the bearings is pretty tricky

Pegs made by my friend. I was hard on threaded pegs and kept having to replace them. My buddy thought "Why not use a double thick washer inside a steel tube and use that to make a peg? You can see them in prototype status. Primered, never bothered to paint them. That dirt is from my career ending bail in 1991.

He made two sets, one for him and one for me. No idea where his went, so I may have the only set on earth big_smile Must have been the right idea, because nowadays EVERYONE seems to make pegs like this.

He made those in 1986. Shoulda patented the idea.

That's them, recently painted.

They are designed to slip up the forks and clamp round them at the appropriate position. The threaded hole is for a removable 990 post big_smile

Re: home made parts let see em

put in a little work on a seat clamp today, I'd say over half way done. it's a double as you can see.. gonna laser engrave the flat spot on the front, might anodize it or just leave it raw. 7075 aluminum, it's a lot harder and machines better than 6061 wich is what most bike parts are made out of, true aero space quality,  but it's doesnt take ano color very well. hope it flexes well enough to bite haha i'm a machinist not a engineer lol
