That's cheating!!!!

lollol  Just kidding- very cool
We recently bought a 3D printer and management has made it clear it is not to be used for personal items.  Funny how some of the engineers have been there for over 10 years and never stayed late once, but now have come in the last couple Saturdays when the boss isn't around.

It's am interesting field of manufacture. I have access to a dual filament printer which is pretty decent quality wise but it's still pretty limited on its abilities. Recently made and bought a few mods to get the best out of it though wink

My friend is a brilliant cnc lathe machinist he has his og elf from the late 80s. He said it needs some nice pedals so i told him if he made spindles i'd make the rest. His spindles will be so much nicer than the crupi, jp etc. I will have 3 sets and i only have one bike. Im gonna have one for my bike. One as art.... but what to do with the third set?  wink

Re: home made parts let see em

Nice work on the upper plate.  You should get the plate hardcoat anodized black (I assume it is AL)- it would balance out the lower triple nicely.
PS: That rig is sweet. Make sure you post up the complete when done.  I always like the look of these but can only image how they must ride. big_smile

You should save the third set for down the road.

Re: home made parts let see em

It's great to have friends or connections to CNC machines.  I approached my neighbor about making me a few things and this was the only bmx item I requested.  He made the first sets in about 1-2 months on his own time but it has been over a year and a half and I can't get him to correct the spelling or minor tweaks on the part.  Frustrating and I think he is so busy he has put my project on permanent hold as it is time consuming for him.  This a part that Haro Group 1 crank owners would love to have to replace those broken or missing caps.  These should last longer and being that they are aluminum, they should grip the threads better.  Now, I look forward to what I read that Haro plans on making their own.  If they do make them, it will be a win win as I won't have to bug my neighbor anymore.

pegs made circa 1992 by my friends in shop class. these things were ugly as hell but indestructible. we called them "fuglys." i rode this set til around 95 when i got a master and bought the chrome fusion pegs that fit the megaforks.

the one on the far right was made by another dude that wasn't part of our crew, he made them in his garage and ground down the welds. i tested them for him and this was the only one that didn't break. never broke a fugly that i can remember, but they did get ground all out of shape

Re: home made parts let see em

Nothing spectacular here but while building my 84 Haro Master I wanted some era style pegs but my axles are 9mm which Skyway didn't come metric so I took a shot at making some.
