1987 GT Pro Freestyle Tour
1987 GT Pro Freestyle Tour
SOLD
100% original. Not repainted etc. Day Glo Pink, 1987 GT Pro Freestyle Tour
This is a Day Glo Pink, 1987 GT Pro Freestyle Tour model. I bought it recently and do believe it's 100% original. It rides like new and looks pretty nice considering the age of the original paint, there are a couple of small scuffs that are rusty and some is flaking off mostly bottom of the seat post tube. The neck and brakes are near flawless and the rest is in pretty nice shape.

Not sure if he was the original owner but during the sale I had to look down at the bike trying not to show the big grin on my face and then i got dude to knock 20 bucks off cause the front wheel needed a tube lol. I do like it more and more every day, but i might sell the frame fork bars and post seeing as I need the neck for a performer I'm working on. It is nice as a complete though too so we'll see.

Re: 1987 GT Pro Freestyle Tour
Why would you ever refinish this? It is in amazing shape!
Don't use the stem off this, GT Mallet stems are so easy to find for $50-$60... Sell the whole bike as a survivor, and you could buy any part you wanted for your performer. To part out/refinishe this perfectly good all OG survivor would be sort of silly. Just my opinion.
But seriously, the part you are looking for is very easy to find.

Re: 1987 GT Pro Freestyle Tour
Yeah, I most likely will just keep it but my wife wont be impressed. And it's not in amazing shape. The back of the seat post tube paint is flaking off and there are a couple paint chips on the other side. In those spots there's some rust so i thought maybe I'd get rid of the cancer before it got too bad. I was considering maybe just repainting the back half but then that would look goofy. I dunno.

Yeah, but it's 25 years old.. for 25 years old, it IS in amazing shape!
You could easily sell this, and get whatever you wanted to restore, or whatever... at least try to find someone that wants the original condition.. It would be a sad day if this was painted.
