Re: Peregrine hp-48's thread

Cool Thread
Heres my Late 87 or 88 era (can't remember) Super Pro's (Silver Rim Sealed Hubs).
Note the Non sealed bearing decals on the hubs indicating a very early set.
Bought these at Albe's Bikes BITD along with most of the parts on The RL20 II.
They are Original and never been apart.

Cal Tron did most of the gold.  It wasn't the greatest experience, but got done.  I have also had Chrisbear on here do some as well and it went without a hitch.

Re: Peregrine hp-48's thread

Just picked up a set locally, and I've never seen the combo before: unsealed hubs with the 'hologram' decals, and silver rims. Thought the hologram decals only came on the Semi-pros?

nope. thats actually the most common combo, the base model hp48s.

you could get them pretty much any way.
sealed chrome hubs with black decal
sealed chrome hubs with hologram
unsealed chrome hubs with hologram
sealed tech chrome hubs with hologram
unsealed silver hubs with hologram
sealed tech silver hubs with hologram

any and all on either silver anno or chrome
plus those black ones they did late on

then there is the ukai versions
polished suzue hubs etc

the "semi pro" name and what exact combo varies depending on who you ask but for the most part its a step or 2 below superpros. i.e. chrome hoops but not sealed hubs.

Re: Peregrine hp-48's thread

Here are the 48's on my Peregrine cruiser. Its the only set of 26" 48's I have seen. I think it looks pretty cool to have the four cross of normal 48's but in such a large size. The hubs are unsealed standard 48 hubs. I feel lucky to have found these.

Re: Peregrine hp-48's thread

The other four bikes that I have all have first gen Peregrine 48's on them. Some are original, some have been polished, some have new spokes, the B1XT has an NOS set. They are all single walled dimpled hoops with unsealed hubs.
