Only problem i found with the wide rear end was i couldn't run profile cranks, chain alignment was way out with the arms spaced out enough to clear the chain stays

So, what kind of cranks did you end up with?

Those Benny's are awesome. In the short sizes they are awesome for flat street hybrids.  Strange your running into clearance issues. I've had no issues on any of my s&ms with profiles.

Get a picture of the bike flipped and let me see your alignment now.

Great, had them around 5 years and haven't had any issues, once lost the bolt that holds the left arm on while riding, couldn't find it so i mailed fly's uk importer asking if i could buy a new bolt, they sent me one for free not often you get customer service like that nowadays

Was fitting the profiles when i first bought the frame, my son had it to start with and i swapped frames with him

It's a 20.75" tt Roy, i wish it was just a little shorter, 20.5" and it would be perfect

Chain alignment is spot on with the fly cranks, they have a wider spread than profile cranks

I know i could have got round the problem with spline drive

The rear end is slammed at 13" with a half link and 28/10 gearing

What length spindle are you using with the Profiles? longer spindle and a spline-drive would fix the problem.

I know i could get round the problem with spline drive, but already had a set of cranks that work fine

28 tooth sprockets are pretty thin on the ground and i don't wanna end up swapping gearing (don't like 25/9)

Could end up spending a fortune just to run profile cranks.... lol

You're preaching to the choir! I've built a bike around a set of hubs.

Re: Post your FIT BIKE CO bikes here!!!

Biggest gearing I could get slammed with sprocket clearance was 28t. I hate this but it allows me at 13.75 to have no half link and decent low end torque with a average top. But my chain alignment is still not perfect, to me. with a s&m l7 spline drive no washers against bearing. Plenty of profile clearnAnce
