Fun with spray paint

My eldest got hooked up with a new frame from Roadkill this season, and he wanted to do something different with it colorwise. I asked him what he had in mind, and he wanted to know if we could do it in Real Tree style camo. I had never tried that before, but I figured I'd give it a shot.

Step 1. Prime everything really good.

Step 2. Paint everything in flat olive drab.
http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n36/pete355/realtree019.jpg

Step 3. Bring me a shruberry...
http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n36/pete355/realtree3001.jpg

Step 4. Using the aforementioned shruberry, I sprayed light random patterns with flat black and flat tan. I had to resist the urge to fill in every blank spot, as I didn't want it to look too uniform.

Step 5. After all the colors are on clearcoat it with matte clear.

We did the frame, forks, bars, hubs and cranks. I almost did the rims, but I thought that might be overkill.

This is Shadow. He supervised.

I finished the bike yesterday, and his first time riding it was at the races last night. He loves it, first in his motos and second in the main. Huge thanks to Jason at Roadkill for the frame and all the help.

Re: Fun with spray paint

Looks really cool, nice use of mother nature lol You should try to get some Road Kill frame decals in gloss black, that would look pretty cool on there imo.

Re: Fun with spray paint

JC, I thought about doing some Roadkill decals in flat black, kinda like military lettering.

Lou, I don't think you have anything to worry about!  lol

Re: Fun with spray paint

Your son must be proud to have an old man who would do that.

Great job Pete.

Eye of the Survivor

I check the WTB section almost everyday, please try and do the same.
You may hook someone up and make some money to buy more parts.
