Re: Hutch Trick Star thread

Great thread!  I've been looking for a Trick Star thread for some time.  Amazed there hasn't been one that's lived on before.

Awesome submits thus far!  Amazing candies, pastels and chrome!

I'd like to ask a couple questions of the TS gurus.  These were available as f/f and completes, but were they also available as "kits" (i.e., no wheels)?  If so, what was included, and what wasn't?  Do the baseball serial #s correspond to the year (i.e., does 6X####'baseball' mean it's an 86 build)?  When did the original TS stop and the TSIIs come out?

Thanks for starting and keeping this thread alive!

Re: Hutch Trick Star thread

I built this one last year.
http://i746.photobucket.com/albums/xx110/looptailnut/decsnowstorm036.jpg
I wasn't feeling the dull chrome with all the nos parts, so I decided to rebuild it around these forks/brakes and have the frame re-chromed.
http://i746.photobucket.com/albums/xx110/looptailnut/ohboy001.jpg
stayed tuned...probably going to enter in the winter build off. cool

Re: Hutch Trick Star thread

Lots of nice ones! I guess I've had a few over the last couple of years. So far though, the only one that has even come close to filling the void left by my '84 Chrome TrickStar that was stolen in '87 is this purple one I picked up last month. I plan on keeping it as original as I can, but still make it mine. I plan on trading the current bars, stem, and wheels. I'd like to add a black GT Mallet, some '84 GT Performer bars, and trade the blue Z Rims for black. Also need a front brake, maybe a Nippon. So if anyone wants to trade some nice blue rider Z's for the same in black...let me know! Anyway, it's still in the living room, and still looks just like this. I tell my wife it's fu&%ing art!

Re: Hutch Trick Star thread

I saw your bike in the museum and just FLIPPED OUT!! It's awesome....making me want to change color on mine...

And by the way you have balls for running a 10mm shaft ACS BOA brake on the front....I'm even afraid to drill the rear just for a recess nut, not much metal to work with there.....
