Stopped at a garage sale at my uncles house. I seen in the back not for sale a mongoose.I asked if it was for sale. He said he'd take $5.00.Here she is at first, and after a good cleaning.

Thanks...

My brother has a set of pro class wheels that needs new spokes, Thinking of getting those and going with yellow spokes.

Need to replace the bars.

Yellow seat.

Yellow grips. (AME)

Yellow tires.

Yellow brake cable.

Silver brakes.

I need to replace the top of my tuf neck, If anybody have a top let me know.

Re: 1979 Mongoose Motomag

Sounds good and different. I think I have a yellow aero seat if you're interested.

Re: 1979 Mongoose Motomag

Wow,nice. That's an early '79 with the coaster brake bracket. This was the same type that I got new as a kid. What's the month on it?Looks like you got mongoose forks instead of the Tange TX1200 that were stock.Shame about that stem, huh? That's an early one with no stamp, about '78/'79.

Re: 1979 Mongoose Motomag

C=Chatsworth,F=June [A=Jan,B= feb.,etc.],'79.That seems pretty late in the year for a brake bracket.mine was Febuary, and now I have one from March that I built as a replica of my original, which was stolen in March,'84.I believe there are far fewer '79s with a brake bracket than without.

Re: 1979 Mongoose Motomag

No problem. If you don't get your build together and it ends up sittin' around, give me a holler.I wouldn't mind having another '79.

Re: 1979 Mongoose Motomag

It's a standard BMX seat, and it's about 10 inches long.
