Re: 1978 Huffy Bandit

Sweet! My bro had one. Never forget those bars. A new kid moved in and he had one. Rode down our street with his sister on the back. We said Hey thats our bike, he told his sister on the back, they think this is their bike. We ended up good friends. Those bikes were rare back then! Been looking to see one on this site and surprised of all the rad old school bikes on here these are still so rare!

Re: 1978 Huffy Bandit

I just found one of these bikes in an old garage the other day. That got me looking for info on them and I came across this great web sight. Seems to be a pretty rare bike to find or own.

Re: 1978 Huffy Bandit

This is aswesome....I had one of these when I was a kid.  I am 39 now.  At first it was very different than other bikes....but i will tell you that I put a zillion miles on this bike and everyone always commented on it.  I too took it for granted that i never saw another like it.  I don't know what happened to mine.  I got a new bike when this one was on it's last leg....I had a friends dad make an upside down bike out of it and rode it like that for several years later......I am on a mission to find photos of the upside down bike and the bandit before.  I have found a photo with me setting on the bike but you can only see the back half.....Thanks for sharing your photo...I wish I had mine today but I will tell you I rode it to the fullest and had a blast on it.....

Re: 1978 Huffy Bandit

I've recently gotten my BANDIT back from my father's garage...and it still has a lot of spunk in her.  I'm 42 years old now, but my son is really enjoying it.  I'm gonna try to restore her a bit.  I've submitted some photos of it too, so you won't be the only one anymore...of course that's if they approve of them...but yours looks awesome!!!
