Re: SHOW YOUR HUFFY LOVE

Hopefully this works...

Apart from the swapped seat and post it’s as-found. Should be July 2000.

Re: SHOW YOUR HUFFY LOVE

Bought this cro-mo huffy intense (frame/fork/bars only) from another member 5-6 years ago for like $30. After swapping out pretty much everything a few times over the years I'm feeling like it's finished finally big_smilehttps://i1330.photobucket.com/albums/w572/enewman1/P1040617_zpswm3hozwb.jpg

My first new bike was a Huffy Pro Thunder 2. I sold it in 2013, but quickly figured out that was bad and found a replacement. I even put the same kind of number plate and MKS pedals on it.http://uploads.bmxmuseum.com/user-images/200821/5add5826-3fe4-4e29-9361-66ad5c953d965d2ca6bba9.jpeg

Re: SHOW YOUR HUFFY LOVE

Awesome! I just picked this one up a few months ago.  Wish i had the correct araya wheel for the back.  There was a red Sumo wheel locally i should have bought for it. I thought about trying my luck at dying the orange pads back to red too. http://uploads.bmxmuseum.com/user-images/208397/20190317_1647115d2ee6aaa3.jpg

I actually gave it to my nephew, he's moved on to other things so he's sending it back.

Re: SHOW YOUR HUFFY LOVE

Decided to do something with this Pro Tunder 3 i found this winter.  I read this whole thread and figured out that it is a 1980 Pro Thunder 3.  I tore it down and started a mild resto/mod on it.  I neutralized the rust, and shined the og paint up.

I found a cool red/chrome 80's chainwheel, red rear brake, and odyssey lever in the basement of an old bike shop (might sell the black lever to get a white one thats similar).  Added a chrome chain, and redlined tires i had sitting around. Picked up a red wheel for the rear locally which is a damn miracle.  Trying to find a cheap layback seat post and clamp.  There is a white Dominator seat locally i might pick up along with my choice of a tuf-neck, SR Saeke, or Pro thunder double clamp stem locally.  Trying to keep costs low, and make a cool old bike.  Might try making a number plate out of a sheet of plastic too.  Still need to dye the frame pad red again and pick up some grips.

I’ve been strictly a Diamond Back guy since 1982/83.  But my first bmx was a 1978 Huffy Thunder Road.  Being so, I searched for the best survivor to add to my collection. https://bmxmuseum.com/bikes/huffy/90311
