I learned to ride a bike on a Huffy - Thunder Road, I think... and I had another a few years later - I remember it looked like the Stu Thomsen, but for some reason I can't recall it actually being a Stu. I remember it being white, and I think black forks and headtube, track certified sticker, but what bike in 1983 or so didn't say track certified, fake CW pro bars... And I owned a 1984 Olympics edition Huffy ten speed. After that I got my first (and until recently only) Diamond Back and never went back to Huffy. Although I did totally ride a Kent frame with the stickers removed for awhile, which is kind of in the same class with Huffy.

Update! I found out the second I owned was a Huffy Nitro. I did love that bike when I got it, but once I got my DB the Huffy love died outright.

Re: SHOW YOUR HUFFY LOVE

I love the Huffy`s and Murray`s. My 1st BMX was a Team Murray 331. It was Silver and Gold and man I loved to ride that bike. I beat on that thing and beat on it and it took everything I gave it. Not real sure what ever happened to that bike but if I ever see another one I will do my best to make it mine.
This is the 1st Huffy I have ever owned, believe it or not lol. Got it for 50 cent. It was actually a $1 dollar bike but it was half-off Saturday, serious, so I got it for $0.50 lol

Here is a 95 or 96.  Huffy was putting out some cool bikes in the 90's.  I like this one for the overall design.

Re: SHOW YOUR HUFFY LOVE

Got the Huffy up & running this week. Pretty much all spare parts I had.
A pretty fun ride. Kind of a rarity as well. 1997 MJ-12. Most of the ones you see are the Cory Nastazio model. This is the earlier Jimmy LeVan frame.

Man I like that one too.  Gary do you get alot of jabs from racing the Huffy.  I get alot of good and bad comments.  My son also.  Most people thinks its cool that Huffy made a good racing frame.  wink

Not really....I think most people have a mutual respect when you're out racing with them no matter what you're riding.
I hear more people comment/complimnent about how cool the mid school Huffys were.
I just picked up a 99 Enigma which was the only model I didn't have.

Thanks GaryK. I've seen you post quite a collection of mid-90's era Huffy ads. Do you have any regarding the MJ-12, specifically the first year one 1997, when it was Jimmy LeVan's frame?
Thanks

Very nice freestyle bike. It looks similar to the Huffy Expert.

http://www.norasound.com/wp_images/huf_01.jpg

The black splatter paint was the Huffy of all Huffy's(yes I owned this same ride back in the day tongue )
Actually all personal biased aside the Kinesis made Huffy's of the 90's were the best ever(they were just as good as any other bike made during the years Kinesis made them)possibly the best welds of all time.
With that said....I still love the black Huffy Expert the most. big_smile

Re: SHOW YOUR HUFFY LOVE

I wanted a Stu Thompsen in the worst way when I was a kid. I ended up buying a Sigma because it took me a couple years to save up $100 to buy a bike (no c'list back then so used bikes were rare finds). I was never allowed to get a bike from a bike shop as a kid due to the fact we were very low income, so my first 2-3 bikes came from department stores. If I found a Stu or Sigma today cheap I would probably buy it LOL.
