1981 Race Inc. RA-7

This is my NOS Race Inc. Nos frame in the box.

I found this NOS frame new in the box. I powder coated a set of first generation forks in candy red to match. The build has NOS Race Inc bars. It has NOS Araya rims with NOS suzue sealed bearing hubs. NOS Sugino Maxy Cross cranks, Nos Dia compe brakes, Redline Brute stem, NOS KKT Lightning pedals, NOS Kashimax seat. This bike is a beautiful piece of history and is a wall hung museum piece. It has only touched the ground for pictures. I plan to take it to the Midwest BMX show in Chicago this year. Last year my 1980 JMC won in the 1980-1982 catagory. Will be going to Rockford for the first time this coming summer 2011 to show and race.

Re: 1981 Race Inc. RA-7

Very Very Nice.  I do think that it is ALUMINUM.  The description spec said Chromo.  The forks should be chromo but the frame is Aluminum.  Correct me if I'm wrong.  Anyhow,  AWESOME ride.  I have one also.  Happy Holidays!

Re: 1981 Race Inc. RA-7

Nice! No joke, growing up in Chicago one could find alloy Race inc frames laying around in any alley. Back in the day I found about 4 or 5 of them all were in anno red and one gold one. My first Race inc was the cr-mo Frame I bought from Easy Rider Damen Av Chicago (Mike was cool) and I think I was 10 years old or so. It was stolen from me and someone else prolly picked it up in a alley. I built a Hutch after it was stolen from my back porch. But I loved the cr-mo race inc. It was candy red/blood red or whatever color they called it. I ran a Tange 1200 dropoutless fork. I never understood why it is so hard to find a cr-mo race inc frame today.

What good is a BMX bike if it sits on the shelf? Ride that thang.......Yep that's right, my seat is from an old Free Spirt, and my chain is by Bell.
