Great Thunder Road
I have been chasing this bike around the Internet for quite a few years. Originally it showed up on eBay and I was outbid at the last minute. Then, missed it when the new owner listed it Buy-It-Now. I contacted the winning bidder and begged him to sell it to me, but he declined. A few years later, he listed it for sale on Craigs List for quite high price. I drove 100 miles to pick it up, but didn't feel it was worth the asking price at that time. So, I put it in the back of my mind. 6 months later, it was relisted on Craigs List for a more reasonable price and I drove back and bought it. I have not done anything with it yet, but plan on cleaning it up as close to perfect as possible. I notice that the spacing on the frame bars is larger than on my other Thunder Roads.

OMG! the Thunder Road was the first bike I ever had only it had orange fenders. Back then, I hated it because all my friends had bmx bikes and I had a Huffy with sissy bars but one thing I remember - the banana seat was very comfortable. You could schooch back and cruise in comfort. Also, very easy to ride wheelies.
Ah, the memories!
Don't mind me. I'm just here to look at pictures.

Thanks for posting -- Christmas of 77, my Dad gave this one to little brother, and I got the mono-shock -- Arcata, CA. Pulled the hat trick 9 years later and scored us a pair of St. Tropez Aerolites. Love him but man he had a knack for picking out cheap bikes
This is my signature. There are many like it, but this one is mine.
