1979 Rampar R11

1979 Rampar R11

Found this bike all boxed up and never opened, all original but the seat post and Tires and wheels. I do have the Original wheel set.

1979 Rampar made by Mongoose; Verified by a friend whose dad worked for Mongoose in 79. It came in the original box with all parts except the seat post and tires, the wheels where there but I thought these skyways and the blue tires would set it off nicely. A few minor scratches where the handle bars where with a little tiny bit of rust, the rest is flawless. Debated on putting it together but why not show it and let people see it. The serial number is odd because it starts with an E9 then a backwards c like this E9 )xxxxxx A rare serial number mistake.

Sweet find!

I have a '79 Rampar F & F posted in "my bikes", that needs to be built back up cause it's missing alot of OG parts.
Thanks, Johnny G.

I'm looking for the following frames, frame & forks or completes by BMX products:
MotoTrac (nickle or chrome), Racer-X or a Super-X (with the double gussets).
Thanks wink

Very nice bike. A friend had one way back in the early 80s. Same seat on yours, we always assumed it was a mongoose version and it sure made for a good conversation piece every time someone asked.

I won a lot of races at Stow Mountain with one of those back in 1982-4.

Re: 1979 Rampar R11

I had one of these back in the 80s because I worked at a Rajeigh bike shop. The 3T stands for the 3 main tubes were chromoly the seat stays were mild steel. As far as being made by BMX products that info is not correct. These bikes were designed by Raleigh and made in Taiwan. The Raleigh frames made by BMX products and rode by BOTTEMA and HENDERSON came in nickel ,candy red and blue. There are a couple under BMX products on this website. I also own a red one.

You own a red Raleigh rampar or a red Mongoose rampar?

Re: 1979 Rampar R11

Agree not a Bmx products frame, that one doesn't have an R gusset, but I think it's a USA build, E = Enid Ohio.
Nice bike got one in the copper/orange colour.

Wanted to buy:
•Shogun fork stickers, early 80's
•OGK Mach grips, blue (mint)
•Team Rampar frame or f&f
