Re: The DG Thread

Rob ur making me wish I bid on that thing...I had known it in the back of my mind I should (nt) have.

Here is the newest one - still getting some parts together to make it just like the ad.

First off Thanks to Stevenbven for making this deal come together - without him - there would be no DG for me!

Some know, some don't. I am not going to post too much because the ad says most of it. HERE IS WHAT I NEED - BLACK OAKLEY II"S - I have blue and yellow to trade. PLANET X is going to recreate the plate (not sure if they even had them) but I need INPUT on the little Plaque that goes on hte seat post mast (see last picture). DOES ANYONE HAVE THE PLAQUE OR DETAILED PICTURES OF ONE? This one was said to be lost years ago. I'm pretty sure DG set out to make 100 but not sure if they did. They were going to make 3 consecutive years with three different color schemes-  seems they didn't even make the second year - so VERY limited and I am going to need some help please!!!

Mine -I do have the Reedy's, just didn't have them on for this shot

Re: The DG Thread

Here's what I'm working on now...'77 DG Racer 2. Spent a bit of this afternoon polishing and dressing up the dropouts as they were pretty gnarly.
This is what she looked like this morning...
http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n36/pete355/kaijumps032.jpg

And here she is after some elbow grease and an SOS pad...
http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n36/pete355/kaijumps067.jpg
lol Kidding about the SOS pad...lots of Mother's and a few spots that needed #0000 steel wool.

Serial number is DG 10 77 70. Would that mean a build date of October '77?
http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n36/pete355/kaijumps066.jpg
Can't wait to finish this one. GAry, do you still have the blue prism DG gusset decals?

Re: The DG Thread

I think I'm gonna powder it black, and I've got some old 7B's I'm gonna powder yellow to go with my yellow chain.

lol lol lol

No way would I powder over original chrome. She's going to be built up with all survivor chrome and blue parts.

Re: The DG Thread

Re: The DG Thread

lol  Just messin' around...apparently some dude did that very thing to what he claimed was a real California Pro. I didn't see the original post, but if it was a real Cal Pro then that is a dammned shame.
I wish I could find a set of 7B's for it without taking out a second mortgage. I've got a nice set of blue 7C's that I need to clean up for it.

Re: The DG Thread

Made a little progress on the '77 today...cleaned and polished a set of Redline forks and installed them with an old Tange headset.

http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n36/pete355/77dg001.jpg

I did a mock up with an old Araya 7C wheelset and a set of Tuff 1s, still not sure which way to go.

Re: The DG Thread

Thread not dead.

I just got my plate in from PlanetX. Thank you Mike. Now, a few more items and I should be good to go.. Yes, carpet queen - will not be ridden by me.

Plate is 36 because the serial number on this one is 36 of 100 ever made.
