1986 Jetter Brake Dancer
1986 Jetter Brake Dancer
SOLD.
This is a 1986 or so Jetter Brake Dancer. Very little is known about these bikes, other than they were from New Jersey of all places. The frame is made in Taiwan and the fork is stamped AKISU. This is a solid, tight bike that rides very well.
It's all original except the tires, chain and brake pads. I did a very minor restoration, mostly cleaning, regreasing and touching up a few knicks. Not the most desired or famous of freestyle bikes, but definitely a rare one.
You don't HAVE to build every frame and fork you own... right?

Re: 1986 Jetter Brake Dancer
Nice bikes.. I have seen afew here and there. I myself love collecting the off brand freestyle bikes like this one. They are verry 80's looking bikes without the big pricetags of the big name bikes you see all the time..Great Bike!

Never heard of or seen one of these before, but it looks like a sick ride.

Cool! I just added my 87' Break Dancer to the museum. I noticed that your seat says Jetter on it. Mine is a std dominator seat that I know is OG to the bike (owned it since new). Mine has sat in the garage since the fall of 87'.

Re: 1986 Jetter Brake Dancer
A kid I know, had one of these, BITD...very cheaply made... he cracked the frame on the down tube, on our local quarterpipe.
He replaced it with a GT Performer... not much of an upgrade.

Ha ha. I can see you now.
You were that kid going around telling other kids that his bike was better, not "very cheaply made"
It takes all kinds...

Re: 1986 Jetter Brake Dancer
I sure wish i had all the original pieces for mine, i only have the frame, forks, rotor and back wheel. Mine was identical to yours with green tires, not sure if they were a dealer upgrade or what? Yours is very nice, brings back memories. Oh and by the way, the neighbor kid had all the fancy bikes growing up and mine did everything his did!

Re: 1986 Jetter Brake Dancer
Yeah, the tires are not original, so I bet green tires were stock.
If I end up keeping it, I'll get green tires some day.

Re: 1986 Jetter Brake Dancer
Myself and two of my buddies had the same bike. All in Green. If you ever decide to sell, I'd appreciate a heads up. I have pictures of my dad sitting on mine when he gave it to me for Christmas. Miss that thing!
