Awesome bike!

Let's face it, after a long day, sometimes all you want to do is flop down on the couch, flip on the TV, and chow down on an easy-to-eat dinner.

Re: 2008 SE Racing Floval Flyer 24

Did some messing around with my last years build today. New seat, seat post, & stem.
Tioga Spyder Twin Rail seat, Thomson Elite post and a Primo Aneyerlator stem with ti bolts.
Got it down under 23 pounds. :D

Re: 2008 SE Racing Floval Flyer 24

New bars today. Now I've got to find a way to shave 2 oz so I can get this thing in the 21 pound range. :)

Re: 2008 SE Racing Floval Flyer 24

Added a KHE Tanga light chain. Saved 4 oz. Also switched the back tire to a 1.5 to save another 2 oz.

Also got a new Paul Moto Lite brake. Saved another oz.

So according to my math it should be 21 lbs 9 oz now.

Or 6 pounds heavier then my world's lightest full sized cruiser.

Re: 2008 SE Racing Floval Flyer 24

Sweet ride!  I love the "Darth Vader". Appearance.   Don't tie a helium balloon to it, it might float away!:D

Always looking for Cook Bros. stuff, vintage SE stuff,  MCS 6 bolt Super stems,  and Race Inc. Leading Edge/Cycle Pro/BMX innovations 20" forks.  All NOS or in very nice condition.

Re: 2008 SE Racing Floval Flyer 24

Been riding this one all spring and summer. Can't believe how fast it is around town and out for long rides.

Gearing is 36-13 with a 180mm crank.

I'm thankful to have this thing instead of a road bike. I'd go do 25 miles on this thing all day.

No spandex either!!!!!

:D

Not really sure to be honest. I know the 2008 isn't the lightest thing ever. I'm guessing the frame is in the upper 3 pound range, maybe low 4's. The fork is around 36oz I believe.

They are Crupi Pro bars. Aluminum, so I would race with them personally. But to cruise the neighborhood they do just fine.

Re: 2008 SE Racing Floval Flyer 24

LOL Found this old pic when I 1st built it. It was 28+ lbs and rode like crap. My front wheel always had a wobble in it from the pos mag. It rides SO much better now that I re-did it. 24" mags suck. Heavy and can't handle high pressure tires.
I like the new look way better, what do you think?
