1985 GT Pro Performer

Purple 1985 GT Pro Performer W/T

Hiya Radsters! this is my Best Friends PURPLE PERFORMER! I recieved this bike from my best friend Nat Gallo, about 2 weeks before he passed away. and this bike was a huge part of our childhood. because, everywhere we went he rode his trusty 3P (purple pro performer), and i rode my beloved Hutch Trickstar (candy blue). those bikes took us out of our homes, from 8am to 9-10pm, almost every night, for the better part of our youth.we even rode in the dead of winter, and this bike was even rode down a ski hill, all while the ski patrol chased us, we would also attach one end of bungie cords to the handle bars and the other end to the bumpers of city busses to get around town faster, lol anyways, im just going to start the restore on this beautiful bike, and i do recall the stickers were yellow, but im not sure of exactly how they looked, so if anyone can help me out with restore help and suggestions, send me a msg, or just post it here. Thanks everyone, for listening to my rambling about some of the good times this bike has seen and also given. and Thank You Nat, I miss you bro, everyday! -Don PS. not only do i have the bike, but he gave me the original sales reciept, i will make as scan at some point to add to this post, and i will also add a pic of my buddie Nat, because, he was a non-blood twin of Eddie Fiola, i me--an, he looked just like him!

Re: 1985 GT Pro Performer

sorry for your loss, but it sounds like you are heading in the right direction.  im sure everyone on the site will assist any way they can on getting the '3P' back to where it was.

Re: 1985 GT Pro Performer

That bike is awesome! Sorry for your loss.

The 85 stickers are sold at the following website:

http://ajkbikes.com/catalog/index.php?c … 676e54e0fe

The stickers on it are 86's, but they look great with that color.
The bike really looks great. I don't know if I would touch a thing!

If you are hell bent on making it as close as original as possible let me know and I can tell you what I can see that would need to be changed.

Sorry to hear you lost your friend. I had the same exact bike i know totally know what you you mean. I rode that bike from sun up to sun set. Those were the days brothers we will never get them back BUT at least we had them!  Age of Innocence not a care in the world. but the bike!... beautiful thing.

Re: 1985 GT Pro Performer

wish i had something from my childhood. no photos, no bike, no skateboards, no tapes. nothing. a lot of my childhood friend are no longer with us and the rest are scattered half a world away throughout n.america. i envy the people here who still have such things. things that remind them of good times. i may have nice objects now but i'd trade them all for some mementos from my past in a hot second. do not restore that bike. enjoy it as it is. rip to your buddy.

ps. he did resemble king eddie
