Re: True BMX Rareness / I'll get some better pics when it stops raining

I can't seem to find the issue of Minicycle BMX action that Bottema's bike was originally featured in ( Late 79 or early 80 )  The only thing I've seen lately is this pic of henderson's from few months  later 1980 issue of super bmx

Re: True BMX Rareness / I'll get some better pics when it stops raining

so whats the story?

The Raleigh Special Development Workshop in england built these two frames for Jeff and Toby - Jeff's (The bike I have) has a euro bottom bracket -- Toby's had the American BB - Toby was rumored to have broken his - Jeff took his apart - put it in storage and sold it back around the year 2006 - I bought it last year from Dave Clinton  -- The Raleigh Special Development Workshop Team were the same guys that made Carlton road bikes

What a beauty!
T.I stands for Tube Investments, the company which merged with Raleigh to form T.I Raleigh, also the name of their roadracing team.

I think the T.I. stands for Tube Investments, which was the holding company for Raleigh.

As an aside, when TI does stand for titanium, there is no period after the T.

Re: True BMX Rareness / I'll get some better pics when it stops raining

I am looking at the brake line in the 4th pic. Was that a common way to run it BITD or is that just personal preference?

Re: True BMX Rareness / I'll get some better pics when it stops raining

Thanks To All for the comments and questions!

pwolfe - neither - I don't have the right brake lever yet so I ran the cable long and will cut it down when the right lever is installed.

What kind of bars are those?

marcOw - Raleigh, Schwinn,Thruster and probably other companies made bars like these - I think these are Thruster bars but I am not 100% sure
