Re: 1985 Raleigh Vektar

hi they are pretty expensive because they are so rare  , also its a bouns to get one with full working electronics!
like all things price will vary depending on a number of issues but in general the bikes are expensive!!

you would be talking few 100 for a mint one like this with full working electronics!

cheers

Whoah buddy .... this "stormtrooper" bike is too cool !

musta been only spoiled rich kids with this one back in the day ...
was probably expensive then and must be worth a mint these days , especially in that condition !

Re: 1985 Raleigh Vektar

The Vektar was the steed of spoiled kids of the 80s who usually used them just to show off or ride along suburban streets to their mate's house. They were unsuitable for use as a BMX because the plastic spoilers were too unwieldy and fragile. A rather snobby local kid who went to a fee paying school owned a Vektar and it was his pride and joy. I will never forget the time when he fell down an embankment whilst riding it and smashed the plastic spoiler. He was in tears afterwards. A few weeks later his parents dumped the Vektar out on the curb for the binmen to collect. A classmate watched it being shoved into the back of a compactor and crushed about 30 seconds before he could save it. :(
