Can't remember which year 08 or 09 model came with chrome rims. I don't understand why they switched to black. Might be a cost issue. Nice bike, I thought about getting one.

Thanks. finally got out on it today. Wow, I have so much practicing to do.
I really like this bike though and I think the black rims go great with it.

Re: 2010 DK Opsis
sweet! I just got my first new school flatland bike too. I got a KHE militant, the free coaster is hard to get used to and it is so short.

That's EXACTLY what I'm talking aboout. So far, I hate the freecoaster. Even doing a simple endo kills me because I can't ride out of it when the cranks just free peddle. Definitely smaller than anything I've ridden too.

The Opsis never had chrome rims but the bike before it did. The 2008 DK signal had chrome rims and then in 2009 it became the Opsis and the rims were changed changed to black for some reason. I like the chrome rims better personaly because I think they look better and the brakes stop faster.

The stock free coaster is not very good and is pretty outdated. DK just uses it because it keeps the bikes cost down since the freecoaster they use is cheap. The freecoaster does make it a true flatland bike and for the price of the Opsis you can upgrade it and still not spend alot of money. I think that the stock freecoaster has too much slack before the clutch engages and makes some tricks hard to do. I would recomend a KHE freecoaster since you can adust the clucthes and there wont be alot of a delay before they engage, also they have sealed cartidge bearings instead of the stock unsealed bearings.

Re: 2010 DK Opsis
I have a DK signal with the chrome freecoaster rims you guys are talking about & i've never had an issue with the amount of slack. At times it does tend to engage/catch when it shouldnt rolling backwards. Mostly it just takes getting used to like anything else, for the money I spent on it I cant complain at all.

Re: 2010 DK Opsis
Sa, that white and black is tough looking. Love it!! The opsis and the Signal are both tough to beat price wise. Pull the coaster apart and re-lube it yourself. Mine sucked when I got it and now cheap or not I've had no problems with it.

Re: 2010 DK Opsis
unfit and hatebreeder, those are some nice bikes. I like the upgrades you guys did.
I haven't really gotten much seat time on this cause I hurt my back and it's taking extra long to recover but hopefully sometime soon.
